There was laughter and fun between him and Lexi as he chased her still, beyond the farmland and somewhat into the hills. It had grown dark out as the sun just set not too long ago, and the two were more than likely pushing their luck with Felissa's curfew. The frail elderly woman liked to keep a check on them well enough, although the arcs were certainly proving less kind to her health these days. Watching over the boys probably wasn't helping either, since they spent a lot of time working closer towards their goal. She'd often insinuated many times that the farm life was better suited for them, rather than being caught up in the middle of the city and all it's nonstop festivities.
That didn't stop either of them though. Both boys were determined to reach great heights within Rharne, and later this season they'd be making that first step into the city. Sometimes they were so busy with the work that they hardly had chance to come home.... home. Was there such a place there with Felissa and Lexi? Often Pat considered it but he never fully committed the idea, even though neither Felissa nor her granddaughter seemed to mind. Patrick mimicked the roar of a creature of the wild as he chased after her, his grin widened as Lexi laughed and softly screamed in her escape. She sought to evade and elude him playfully but he drew closer to her, his arms held out as the playful predator drew even closer.
How many times did they just run around and play together like this? Not enough these Trials, not since he seemed far too caught up with work. Laboring within Dust Town had never been something Lexi liked, but she never once questioned the intent with the two brothers. After all they had been through, they deserved to earn themselves a place to call home naturally; if that's what the two wanted of course. Even Felissa was never afraid to make it clear to them, that her house was their home as well when they needed it to be. The brothers could never repay that kindness in return, not after the loss they suffered when their mother died.
"What's the deal?! You're supposed to catch me!" Lexi squealed as she shuffled her feet to cover further ground away, until she found herself skipping along as he slowed to a stride.
"Maybe but where's the fun afterwards? If I catch you then the game's over." Patrick reasoned as he panted with a wide grin, actually enjoying himself now that he wasn't caught up in the whole world of work.
"Really? Is that what you think?" She teased him as she twisted around to walk backwards, her hands held behind her as she shot him a playful smirk. Patrick liked that. Ever since they'd grown closer together and spent what little spare time he had with her, he'd done nothing but found himself fonder of her over time. Sometimes he felt that fondness a little maddening or frustrating since he was usually working, but every time they were together all of it just seemed to melt away like... magic.
"Have it your way." He mused with another burst of zeal in his step, the move created another squeal with more laughter; as Patrick already yet again drew in closer. With his arms reached out yet again he growled playfully, and they were about to resume another round of chasing. Yet when Lexi twisted she appeared to trip and fall, a look of surprise on his face as Pat too tried pulling away into a fall. He tucked into a tumble that led him to roll downhill, along with Lexi, the world swirled into a blur and his mind felt it rush all around his head and body. Patrick could've swore he bounced a couples before they reached the bottom, a groan made as he laughed alongside Lexi once he came to a stop.
