The doors to The Roost were swung wide open, allowing access for any who wanted to come and participate or watch what was about to happen. The sign outside was roughly created but none the less legible. In common it read Free Opening Day Lessons. There was activity buzzing around the building as people made decisions on if they wanted to attend or not. It hadn't taken long for the information that The Roost was opening to go public. In fact, the moment the half-breed had bought the building there were already whispers going around of someone who had managed to purchase the building with one fell swoop, neglecting the process of loans completely. There was no stopping this from causing a buzz as anyone looking at the building could tell it was of good enough quality and stocked well enough for it to have cost 10k plus of golden nels.
What really attracted the interest of potential customers though, was the fact it belonged to the woman becoming so well know through the city for her combat skills. Some had huffed, tossed their heads and called her a glorified merc or a filthy flapper. Others had instead looked on with excitement and sung her praises as a woman who stood equal to the generals themselves. The validity of either of these statements was obviously overblown and easily up for debate, but at the very least it did a good job attracting the attention of those she wished to participate in the class. After watching F'mos open up his own business she realized that it wouldn't be safe to rely on the strength of her name alone, she had to do something to act as marketing. The free class worked perfectly since it let people get a good idea of her skills and abilities while also getting people through the door.
So now the half-breed sat and waited. She wondered if any of the people she'd tried to bring on as workers would show for this. She'd set aside the next trial as a special day for them so that she could get an idea of their skills as well as help them understand what kind of boss she'd be walking into this. But part of her worried that she'd just get blown off and no one would show up. She had the same anxiety this trial as she wasn't sure how many people would meander in and just look around compared so how many people would actually stick around to participate in the free class.
At present she was sitting cross-legged on one of the mats in the center of the room, watching the ebb and flow of people as some decided to wander in and others just passed by outside without a second glance. There were those who hesitantly walked in and sat on the mat with her, but she could see a general look of apprehension in their eyes as they looked at her. Everyone was different in that regard. Some looked at her with fear for her race, others fear for what she'd have them do, some fear of being made a fool out of. But none the less, all of them looked on with a distinct expression of fear. Her mind raced as she tried to figure out what she could do to get rid of that fear. What display of power she could set up, a little act so to speak, that would let her do away with that fear and leave an egar confidence. Yes, perhaps the idea spinning around her head would work. But she needed someone to walk in that would to help her. She could only hope she attracted enough people.
