She had drifted into a sleep that gently lulled her in a state of serenity as the world seemed weightless, the emptiness of the void she found her self in both solemn and yet... relaxing. There came echoes of droplets far across the spectrum of sound, as though she were surrounded by a simple yet disarming sound. They came in a frequency that almost felt melodic to her, as she felt her entire being hum in the descent she felt her self within. She still wore the nightgown she'd fallen asleep within, but as she continued to descend within the void something began to happen.

Little lights soon started to accumulate at her skin by the trill, dozens of vibrant specks illuminated her being as she slowly plummeted. As they swirled new clothes then materialized on her as if by pure magic, and soon enough she met some sort of bottom of the void she could not see. But she could feel it; otherwise she wouldn't be on her knees, staring into the abyss while her new outfit materialized. It looked to be a white raiment with subtleties of blue, while her waist had been provided with a frilled knee length skirt. Drowsily she watched the abyss with curiosity, unsure of what was going on.

She looked down at her new clothes as the little lights faded out all around her, a pathological swirl around her figure in effect as they died out. "What's going on?" She asked her self with a fold in her eyebrows, however she would seem to have her answer by means of natural phenomenon. As she sat there watching the entirety of the void slowly started to find light, or rather lights that soon filled its vastness all around her. She could see slowly that all around her stars became born within the black, to alight the darkness that surrounded her with little beacons throughout the abyss. "Are these... stars?"

She remembered well enough the conversation she'd had with Higan a while back, and how the child's own curiosity got her wondering. Yet Kayliegh never anticipated actually finding herself lost among the stars, the fact she was however aroused her curiosity even further. "Where did they all come from?" She thought aloud as she rose to her feet, unsure of where to go next. There were so many of them all throughout the range of her sight, she could only wonder how far they managed to actually go. Was this space infinite and were they? Could she discover what they actually were here? She propped a hand underneath her elbow while her other craned near her head, as she tapped her index finger in consideration at what she could find here.

Somewhere in the dark temple of his thoughts lights shone in the distance, beckoning him away from the serenity of the darkness that surrounded him. Vakhanor had never enjoyed being in the light, but no matter what he did it tried beckoning to him over and over again. Step, step, step the residue of the sound of his footfalls filtered into a soft echo until finally he stopped to lift his hand against a smooth pane of glass.

He stepped into the dim reflection of the light that protruded into the darkness and looked out in what he could only describe as a painting of lights splattered across a dark canvas in scattered dimensions as objects twirled in the infinite light of bright, shining stars and dancing at the center a lithe woman with long flowing brown hair. And in that moment he knew, here he was the nightmare.

Vakh's candid ocean hues carefully studied the space with avid curiosity, distracted from the dancing girl. He knew not the meaning his consciousness wished to relay by presenting such a woman, but he knew he was battling for the wrong side. An image of Elyna stared back at him through the light, beautiful and gentle offering her hand to him in hope and yet no matter how much he wanted to go with her, the man was convinced that she would never love him.

Tears fell from his eyes as he watched the image fade to black "I'm sorry Ely," he uttered, even though he knew she could not hear him "I love you." Starring out at the girl he tried to fathom what kind of demon she was to him. He had lost the light with Elyna, he'd been jealous, second guessing and cruel to her; and for a moment he wondered if he had been a better man than he was, would he be in the predicament he was in now? He wanted better for her than his folly.

"Hello?" he tried to yell across, unsure if the glass allowed him to hear her or vice versa. He punched the surface, hoping to crack it though somewhere in his heart he knew it couldn't break.

As she wondered in her place Kayleigh became a sort of obstacle for these stars to interact with, some which seemed filled with animation moved, flew all around to create a surrealistic world all around her. Just what were they though? She'd walked in circles in awe and somehow she couldn't help but smile, a few twirls made with her posture while her eyes followed the lifelike orbs around.

This place had been a wonder but one she started to think beautiful and serene, a place where she felt safe deep within herself. Even so there appeared to be something else there, a presence of another which she failed to notice before. Or maybe... they had only just found her now. She could not have known as the truth, much like this place, remained a mystery at large. Yet just who was it that she had heard within the vast reaches of this starlit void? It sounded distanced or muffled to her, but felt so very near her right at the same time. Kayleigh walked a little to search for the source, unsure of which direction to begin as well as where she headed.

There was no real sense of direction here really, at least not without any sort of sun or moon to spot. How was she suppose to find anything in a void big as this? Even with the stars there to light her invisible path, there would be no telling where she truly headed. "Who's there?" She called out in an attempt to gain a response. "Hello?" As she looked further she noticed something, a figure that appeared to reside beyond something unseen to the naked eye. It appeared to be a man, large and alone beyond whatever divide kept them separated from one another. "Hold on!" She called out to him just before she dashed to his direction.

When she arrived to stand face to face with him she quickly realized how tall he stood, with fiery red hair and deeply blue eyes filled with sadness and pain. She didn't know this man at all but somehow she... felt for him, a sense of pity from the weight of trouble he appeared to shoulder. Kayleigh reached out to find the surface of the wall between them, invisible yet somehow resilient to keep the both of them from physical contact. "What?" She murmured to herself in a state of confusion, when she took a step back to look around him she noticed it then. There was nothing beyond his side, he stood in a place where total darkness seemed to surround him. Yet he could see her.

If that were true then... then she had to be able to help him somehow! "Who are you?" She called through the looking glass between them, her hands then pressed against it in different locations afterwards. If Kayleigh could she'd find an opening or something, maybe create one somehow to bring him through if possible.

Expressionless in the backdrop of the blackened universe that stood behind him, Vakhanor placed his palm against the glass and watched the movements of her soundless lips. What? he thought he recognised the shape of the word on her lips, and made out little else of what she was trying to relay to him.

The glass did not allow noise to travel through it, forcing him to remain silent. Not that he had minded, the dream had saved him from the nightmare of making an introduction to the young woman on the other side of the glass. It became clear to him in the moments she drew closer, she was the kind of light that often shone onto the dark rendering its secrets to be seen and the sort that he had grown to hate. Glory saw no maker like an attempt for redemption, and he wondered if she was on the other side of this glass - would he try to strangle her?

Vakhanor's eyes narrowed, searching the reflection of the glass for the image of Elyna. Hoping that maybe she would guide him to an answer, and as always she never did. Outwardly confused, whilst inwardly battling his desires to remain a good man and a supporter to his dear friend, his gaze wandered and returned to look down upon the woman. Still and trapped in what he could only describe as uncertainty, he was certain the dream was urging him away from the path he tried to lead; despite the maiden's presence. Instead, it was Bjorn who appeared looked back at him from the other side speaking words he could not hear.

Forming from the aether of the stars, two figures emerged from the stars, bit by bit drawing closer to Kayleigh. "Don't bring him into the light," warned the echo of a young boy no older than six arcs, looking up at her a large cheeky smile and innocent brown eyes and bleeding from the back of his head "do not hurt him." Beside Bjorn appeared another child, a girl with blonde hair and Vakhanor's same dazzling blue eyes, a little taller than the other and her body burned, then formed into cinder. "He tried," the elemental looking child said, touching the pane of glass as she watched the trail of tears trickling down her father's face "and the light rejected him."

Confused she watched as he seemed focused on something, something other than her seemed to occupy him at the moment. She searched but no matter where her hands patted there were no holes, no gaps or openings she could reach through. Just as she took another couple steps back to look at the endless abyss beyond, she began to wonder how this man resided in such a dark and empty place. "There's darkness in his eyes and... in his heart." She noticed as she watched him closely, a hand rested at her collar bone while she turned to see what transpired next.

Echoes of another reigned her attention as an apparition cam forth in the form of a boy, one much younger than Higan and bloodied at the crown. She gasped and held her breath for a moment as she watched him approach, the boy's eyes firmly locked on the man as he spoke. "Why?" Kayleigh questioned briefly as she looked from the boy back to the stranger beyond. Why does the darkness... cling to this man so? She wondered as another approached next to the boy, this time a girl whose body seemed to be a mix of ash and flame. The sight of her unnerved Kay as she stood in front of the man, a hand wrapped over her other arm just above the elbow.

The light would hurt him? There was such sadness and pain in the man's eyes, from the way he looked at both the girl and the boy, Kayleigh could determine that they were deeply connected to him. Somehow. "Rejected him?" Kayleigh had never known her self to believe such a thing, why would this man be rejected by the light of the world? What did he do to deserve such a fate? Her heart grew heavy for this man not because of pity, but because of pain she could actually see in the man. How did he fall into the path to darkness? What happened in his life to cause such grief?

"Why reject him." She reasoned as she drew in close with a somber expression on her face. "Surely he deserves some substantial hope, some kind of peace in mind to keep the darkness at bay." Everybody did at some point in their lives; and this man, though stranger, felt strongly deserving of freedom against the darkness. Though she hadn't a clue who he was nor where he belonged, she cared little for any of that as the sight of his suffering said enough. She reached up once more with just a hand, and rested it on the glassy surface with sincerity in her eyes. "What else is darkness, if not a burden weighing down one's own heart."

She balled her other hand out of frustration in her helplessness, this was a place where she should be able to help one such as him. Kayleigh watched him for a while longer and with a deep breath, she sighed and closed her eyes to concentrate on the environment. She found herself in this world so it stood to reason she could affect it somehow, or at least turn things around so that this man no longer had to suffer. She felt the glass hum beneath her hand, and when she opened her eyes, she found nothing had changed at all. The man still remained on the other side while the two children watched, like an audience gathered to admire a caged beast within the glass beyond.

"Somehow... I'll set you free." She pressed against the glass and in doing so created a crack, a reaction she didn't intend but went for all the same. The further she pushed for her hand to pass the harder the glass became, until finally she needn't press anymore. What Kayleigh did was reach through the cracks with her will, her mind perhaps, and in doing so reached to exchange places with the individual. No matter how much the two told her not to, Kayleigh shook their words from her ears, her determination brought her to bring resolve to this man. Peace maybe. Shelter from the darkness within.

Her efforts paid off it seemed, she found herself on the other side of the glass now. The lights of the stars behind the man, as the darkness of the void rested behind her. As she felt herself drift away from the window into darkness, she could see the other side of the glass intensify with brightness.

Thus her descent led her to dive deeper into the darkened reaches of the void.
