The debate was over. Considering the 'People' had few questions left to ask, Woe had ceased all arguments and Olivia seemed to be in support of him, Alistair considered himself - perhaps incorrectly - to have won the debate. He did not say this openly, but for his own pride he did find an uplifting smile gracing his lips. It was good that he had known so much information about the politics of magic in the Kingdom, though of course, he only utilized information presented - he didn't want to seem... overly knowledgeable on the subject.

Around this time, with the debate beginning to wrap up, he'd sworn that he could hear commotion ongoing elsewhere... the sound of some sort of surprise in the greater ball area, though he wasn't quite sure what that surprise was about, or who it had been caused by. What he knew was that he promised to treat Robek, or Fridgar, on the following night. As such, he raised himself and asked the moderator a direct question: "Is this debate over, then?" he posed, casting off the assumed role of the King when inevitably it appeared that indeed, it had ended.

"Very well, thank you muchly my subjects," he said sarcastically, weaving his way past the tables and the guards and back into the ballroom for the grand finale - an announcement that would trump all expectations.

Hey guys - glad this got finally wrapped up! Thanks for your participation. Olivia, I'm sorry that I couldn't award you higher marks, but as an abandoned thread, the peer review guide is clear. I really enjoyed watching this debate and reading about what you said and how you each dealt with it.
