57th Ymiden, Arc 717
"Cassander has really pissed off a lot of people recently, first he becomes engaged to the empress and now the complete outlawing of magic. Something is going on and I don't like it one bit." Xander stood in the window, the morning light creating an almost silhouette of his muscular body to Celeste who was in bed still behind him. His finger tapped against its frame as he his hands rested on either side, his eyes danced as they searched the gardens before him and he considered what it was the boy king was attempting to do.
He hummed and scratched his chin as he noted the lack of pain in his side, the rib was definitely healed. He turned to face his lover and walked back to the bed. He climbed on and sat, legs crossed, beside her in a somewhat unusual demeanour for him. "How are you feeling this morning?" Xander looked at his pregnant bride with a warm and loving smile, these were the happiest trials of his life and he would not refuse to feel joy in them.
Leaning forward and placing a kiss on her forehead he would then shuffle back and stand, moving over to the dresser and collecting a shirt from within its draws. Leaning against it for a moment he would continue to try and figure out what Cassander and Emerson were up too. "What are they planning?" He murmured to himself as he looked at the wall and sighed heavily. "Why magic and why marry her, its disfranchised a lot of people. Why sacrifice that sort of support unless you felt you could gain it back or have enough support in other places."
Xander was confused by the whole situation and he was struggling to see the logic behind the moves this king was playing. He doubted the boy's advisors would suggest such moves so to him it fell to the Empress. Had she really bewitched the boy like people said she did? "Do you think it is true what they say about Empress Emerson Sands? Or is it just hearsay and drunken rubbish? Could the woman really have placed some kind of hex upon the foolish child? The whole idea seemed far fetched to Xander but then again he had met two mages in his life, one of which could turn into a bear-man so perhaps it was not that crazy of an idea.
"That boy is not fit to lead Rynmere, he has no idea what he is doing and whoever it is that i controlling him now is even worse. It sounds like they are trying to start another rebellion." It crossed Xander's mind that perhaps that was the desired outcome, an uprising in which they could eradicate all the opposition and non-loyal people across the kingdom. "Does it not worry you, Celeste? It does me and I have ignored it long enough I think." Xander turned back from the dresser and pulled his shirt on while awaiting a response from his lover and ally.
