This was nice, holding Theodore's hand was nice. Lazuli smiled as she looked up at the clouds, her chest still felt tight where he had held his arms around her. She had slipped into a daydream as the man at her left stirred, while the two of them lay hidden in the tall grass side by side catching their breath, and kissed her. Lazuli held her breath as a strange heat spread through her like a quick moving poison, a sensation unlike any she had ever experienced. Her mind raced, trying to draw connections to something that might have felt akin to this, anger, embarrassment, fear? The kiss had caused her heart rate to slow considerably, and her lack of panic scared her more than anything. What would Isabel say, what would they all say about her when Theodore returned home to brag?
For a moment she let an uneasy silence settle between them, not knowing what to say to the boy. Lazuli had stolen her hand away from Theodore's quickly, and wondered what that strange drumming in her ears was. Her heart? The guards coming to fetch her? Distant thunder? Everything was a blur of confused emotions, new sensations, and concern, above all else, she was concerned that he would tell of how easy it was to steal a kiss from the Lion's Lamb. With lightly furrowed brow she turned to look at Theodore and sat up, glancing about the field only to find that they were indeed alone. It was then she leaned in, like a child bowing to smell a rose, and pressed her lips to Theodore's. The kiss was brief, but invoked the same response it had the first time, leaving her warm and tingling, almost painfully so.
"You have to go now," she spoke in a whisper and got to her feet quickly, too fast for Theodore to react or attempt to follow her, and ran towards the house. Their time together was done.
