The shallow bay Egilrun is situated upon is used, these trials, for crafts and crafting. From boatmakers to weaponsmiths, glassblowers to metalworkers, the sound of hammers and saws can be heard almost every break of the trial, with crews working in shifts to produce the beautiful craftsmanship which they might, one trial, become famous for.

[Egilrun] Two Queens Shy

Two Queens Shy
Image
A large pavilion adjoins one of the barracks-like living tenements near the beach. Situated in the main mercantile center of Egilrun, where travelers and locals go to lose their money for some trinket or other, it beckons to any who feel tempted to try their luck with either fortune or lust. A sign hangs from the open doors of the structure, Depicting a motley-gloved hand holding two Queen of Hearts under a table.

Inside, a rush of warmth overcomes the patrons entering the establishment, emanating from a large stone hearth in the center of the western wall. The place is well lit, especially for a house of ill-repute where most of the gaming and dirtiest deals in Egilrun take place. Two Queens Shy serves as a beacon for bored craftsmen looking for an escape from the humdrum of everyday life, and serial pleasure-seekers alike.

Most of the tables are dedicated to gambling, covered in a layer of woolen cloth to protect the cards and die from scratching against splintering tables. Around all of the tables are comfortable, yet mismatched arm chairs.

Drinks are served here liberally, but there is a severe lack of food selection. Nevertheless, the charming company of the girls as well as the thrill of risking your coin for a bit of fun and the slight promise of a big payoff keep locals and travelers coming back to the establishment, and it's done well for itself.

Grant

Name: Grant Lowen
Race: Human
Age: Ashan 100th, Arc 689
Title: Proprietor
Skills: Socialization: 60, Deception: 30, Seduction: 10
Other Information: Black, well groomed hair and handlebar mustache hangs over a portly face, creased by laugh-lines. Glistening brown eyes, set deep within their sockets, watch delicately over the common room as well as the balcony above.

His fair skin charmingly compliments his dark hair and leaves an impression of a man who's led a fortunate life.

He's wearing a clean shirt and buttoned it up halfway with a loosely fitted tie around his neck. On top of the shirt he's wearing a stylish, blue vest with 7 silver buttons, it has a fairly deeper v-line than the shirt, which causes the vest to line up perfectly with the jacket's v-line when it's buttoned up.

The jacket fits him like a glove, a tailored glove. It has an elaborate houndstooth pattern which gives the suit a stylish look. The 4 buttons of his single breasted jacket are all buttoned up.

The jacket is slightly longer at the back, it has vents at either side, there are two pockets on either side and there's a breast pocket which contains a pocket watch.

He's wearing green pants, which compliment the deep burgundy of the jacket. On his feet he wears a pair of well-polished white and black leather shoes.

To top it all off he's wearing a luxurious belt, from which hang a couple of cloth gloves and silver cufflinks.

Gambling

There are high stakes buy ins depending on the wealth of those gaming, and then there are low stakes in which any schlub can participate. I only mention this to give an idea of how low-stakes and high stakes should go in a roleplay thread between two or more pcs. Anyone pursuing a career in Gambling should expect it to go hand in hand with their corresponding skill and wages(deception/psychology/etc.). There obviously shouldn't be anyone making solo threads to print money. If you must do a solo thread, you should probably gloss over the amount of money that changes hands. That's the sort of thing that should be moderated.
