The Mill

Sitting on the north bank of the river, powered by a large water wheel and on the western side of Egilrun sits the Mill. Every break of the trial, the wheel turns and inside there are a number of large grinding machines which mill wheat into flour. The grain mill is running almost constantly and grains brought in to Egilrun, either by boat or across land are ground down here.

The Mill is always busy, day and night and has a small building attached to it where members of the public can come and buy the flours made here. There used to be a lot of slaves seen in Egilrun, here in the Mill that
was especially true. Now, they have poor people who take a job despite the high mortality rate among the workers here. The work is hard and heavy but there are always those who are desperate for the money.

Visitors are welcome to come to the Mill, if they really want to then a tour of the place can be arranged. Mostly, though, it's a lot of steps, three large grinding devices and a lot of dust with people carrying heavy bags. However, specialty flours can be made here, if either the ingredients are available or are brought in.

Other Information: One of the few who has survived here any length of time, Sasha has worked at the Mill as long as anyone can remember. She has some strange dogged determination not to die which, thus far, seems to be working.

Other Information: Maddie is a pretty human woman who runs the Mill with an iron fist. She is a strict disciplinarian and she makes sure that the workers and slaves are busy constantly. Focused entirely on profit, she doesn't care who she tramples on in the process. To the customer, however, she is charming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Frankly, if she thought they'd pay, she'd sell them her grandmother.
