Vhalar 28th, 717

Qit'ria woke up after the second night she'd stayed at the Faldrass Luxury Resort. She'd been having a rough Vhalar so far, as it seemed something was driving off every animal she tried to hunt. She had begun to catch glimpses of it, a small creature of some sort scaring off animals as she'd stalked closer to them. It was maddening. And it seemed that it had been following her, from Sweetwine Woods to her very own cave north of Scalvoris Town. It had to be intentional, meaning this creature was far more intelligent than she would've thought a normal critter could be.
So she decided to try and shake it. So she had gone far north to Almund, caught a boat, and after a long bout of seasickness arrived at Faldrass. No small mammal could swim that far, surely. She'd decided to spend a few days here, and hopefully, it would find someone else to harass. Then she'd return and get back to it. But for now, she decided to explore this island. That first day and night had been spent recovering from her travel across the sea. But today, today she'd find something to do. She'd heard that the mountain off to the east could spit fire and melted rock. She'd never heard of anything so ridiculous but wanted to see it if she could.
Wandering through the Faldrass Marketplace, chewing on some sort of grilled meat on a stick, she paused next to a stall. The man there sold leathers it seemed and was talking to a chubby blonde woman. Qit normally didn't care to eavesdrop on people, simply because she didn't care for when people talked. But this spot had a nice breeze and a comfortable spot in the shade, so the chatter was just something she'd have to deal with. The woman seemed to be looking for some new boots for her husband, and he apparently only liked snakeskin. Her and the merchant prattled on for a while until they said something that caught Qit's interest.
"There are these big snakes under Faldrass, they're like boulder snakes, but they've been changed somehow. There's two of them and if they leave, the whole place will just fall into the water."
The woman looked skeptical, and the merchant continued, "A leather merchant like me can only hope at least. If even just that there's giant snakes here, maybe someone could kill 'em and sell me the hides, I'd make a killin'."
Qit never interjected, but was definitely intrigued by the idea. Giant snakes possibly under the island. She had her pack and weapons on her, like always, she could go looking now. She was always a fan of a hunt. Better than hiking up a mountain to see fire that didn't exist. Mountains spewing fire? That's just ridiculous. Giant snakes though, those were real. And she planned to find them, and a determined look grew on her face. After the woman left the man, Qit approached and asked in Common, "Where here of giant serpents? Me hunter. Sell you hide if find." She stood there, arms crossed, waiting a bit impatiently for his answer, staring him daggers, hoping to not get the run around that many merchants liked to give.
