Faith sat on the seat in the docks, snow falling around her, over her and she watched the boat leaving. It was strange, she thought, how their bonds worked. As two people who shared the love they did, she and Padraig would know what each other was feeling in this time. He was missing her, worrying about her, worrying about her missing him, nervous about what he was going to face when he got to the uncharted territory to which he was sailing, concerned for their baby which grew within her. She'd know that without doubt yet, because of the bond they shared, she knew it. The bonds of Qylios from him and the mark of Famula and Vri meant that they knew each other's thoughts and feelings in a very literal sense.
Eventually, it was more or less out of sight. Standing, Faith felt the wind whipping around her and she strained to see; she knew that what she was making out was probably in her imagination more than anything, so she turned and made her way back home. She was waddling, there was no doubting it and Faith smiled to herself as she considered that at least Padraig would miss the truly swollen and grumpy stage of this pregnancy. Depending on how long he was gone of course, he might not. She very much hoped that he would be back before she went to labour, but she was very aware that there was no telling and the portal boots he had meant he could be at her side in a heartbeat. If, for some reason, he needed her there, she could be there too thanks to the link provided to them by Famula.
So, it came down to just missing him. But that was tempered by how inordinately proud of him she was. Still, she made her way back home, nestling into the scarf she had wrapped around her, because for all that she didn't feel the cold at all, thanks to Famula's mark, she also did not like the wind whipping around her face, so she hid behind her scarf and considered that she had always been something of a baby about the weather.
Once she got back to the house, Faith walked in and closed the door with the sort of slow care which meant that she was carefully controlling her emotions. Katie and Luna were next door and Faith smiled at Cosmo as the large dog bounded up to her. Previously, she'd have knelt down to scratch him, but Faith was growing increasingly unsure of her ability to get back up so she just bent slightly. His tail wagging, Cosmo walked with her into the house and Faith smiled as Cyrus came out of the kitchen. He had two cups of tea in his hand, one for her and one for him and he put them down without a word. Faith was quite content to sit there, having lowered herself down on to the sofa, to sit in silence the two of them. She felt better with him being here, she had to say. It wasn't Padraig, but at the same time there was something about Cyrus which was just inordinately restful.
So Faith sipped her tea and the pair of them sat in silence. It wouldn't last, she knew; Katie would be home soon and when the glittermonster arrived, chaos would arrive with her. Faith didn't doubt it.
