The thing with Scalvoris, Faith thought to herself as she walked down the street, was that the extremes of heat were just so.. extreme. It was fantastically cold in the winter, incredibly hot in the summer. In typical Scalvoris fashion, also, the in between times tended to be filled with storms or rain or who knew what. There was certainly a lot of weather here. Turning to Alissa, her friend and self-appointed bodyguard, Faith smiled slightly. "You alright?" Alissa looked like the heat was getting to her, Faith thought and so she looked around and spotted where a local cafe had put seat outside in the shade of large umbrellas and she motioned over there. "We've got a break until I have to be in class. Shall we get a cool drink?" One of the boons from Famula's blessing was the fact that Faith never needed to feel the heat or the col and so she did tend to forget that she charged ahead without really care or concern for the heat.
So, they went to sit in the shade, in a quiet corner where they were largely unseen by others. Alissa chose that spot and Faith smiled at her slightly for doing so. Always the bodyguard, it had to be said. Always worrying about who could see them, where their vulnerable points were and so on. Faith found the notion to be exhausting, in all honesty and she sat, sipping some cool water and looked at Alissa with a critical, medics gaze. "You shouldn't let yourself get overheated. Heat is dangerous, you know." Alissa rolled her eyes and Faith raised an eyebrow. "When you warn me of dangers, you expect me to appreciate and respect your knowledge and expertise." It was a softly spoken point, made in a gentle way but was nonetheless true.
Alissa sighed and nodded. "You're right, I'm sorry. I'm tired." Faith shook her head. "There's nothing to apologise for. Are you not sleeping?" Alissa's eyes widened slightly and she looked at Faith somewhat disbelievingly. "I'm sleeping. Or I would be. I want to. But you? You! You don't sleep, you don't stop. You're... impossible!" Faith blinked a few times and looked at Alissa with a raised eyebrow. "I'm really not sure why my sleeping habits interrupt yours. I don't mean them to, certainly. You don't need to be with me all the time, Alissa, you should rest." Faith didn't want her tendency to sleep so little to be a concern for anyone, especially not her friend. She didn't point out that Alissa had taken the self-appointed role of bodyguard, Faith hadn't asked her to do it. Considering what her friend said, though, Faith thought about it and concluded that she could be more thoughtful, more considerate. With Padraig away, she was busier than ever and she understood that wasn't an easy to keep up with.
"I'll do better at considering you, as I should be. My apologies," Alissa shook her head. "You don't need to do that." Faith smiled at her. "You are my friend. Maybe I should actually hire a bodyguard," as Alissa's gaze shot up in surprise, Faith continued, "a second one. Someone you could work with." She could tell as soon as she put it that way that Alissa was happy with that. Faith smiled and was about to comment when there was some kind of a commotion in the street and then she heard someone calling for a medic or doctor.
Without pause, of course, Faith stood - and Alissa did the same. Moving, the two women went to see what the issue was.
