Talk of the Town

Tue Jun 08, 2021 8:53 pm

Date: 13 Ymiden, 718 12th Break

Breath.

It pulled into the Qi'ora's lungs as he rose in the middle of the day. It spilled from his lips like the ether as it spilled from his body. The dance, the in and out was made very apparent to Mahsis as he brushed the sleep from his eyes. It was rare for him to sleep more than three breaks in the evening and yet... here they were. He rose with the crack of the tenth break, and he sifted through the various fabrics that made up his wardrobe. Pointedly, the Qi'ora avoided anything green.

The town spoke and when Mahsis was inclined to listen, usually it was when color poured into the topic of conversation. His lips pursed as his favorite color eluded him. Instead, he took to wearing vibrant violet. A shawl wrapped about his shoulders, to be raised over his head when he left his home. For the moment, however, he covered his frame and made to the mirror in the center of his home. Mahsis inspected the curvature of his bare chest and thin legs before allowing undergarments and pants to cloak them from his sight. His shirt slipped beneath the shawl before he tucked the garment into the fabric. A shudder of delight filled his mind as pleasure coursed through his body with the sensation of fabric meeting flesh.

When the Qi'ora was prepared, he exited his home, raising the fabric of his shawl over his head as a hood. Escaping from his home, he locked the door behind him and the shift in heat and exposure to sunlight caught him, just as it did every day. Moseke blessed the Qi'ora with their affinity for sunlight and it was when Mahsis first encountered it on each day that he relished it most. He breathed in the scents of the midday air as his face and neck basked in the glow of the sun.

He raised up his head, a hand trailing along the back of it as he held up the shawl to disguise his skin from onlookers as it steadily took on a green hue with the exposure. Pleasure cast through his senses, flushing his thought of the sleep and endearing him to the passage of the day. The warmth of stone beneath his bare feet elicited a further shiver that coursed through him before at last he began his step. He was eager to bask in the light of the day but knew little else of what he wanted. His day was clear of work or schedule, and the relief that swept at him for a space of breath caught upon his soul.

The texture of fabric was made apparent to the Transmuter as it was brandished upon his flesh. He felt it deep within his flesh, the fabric's textures and how they might be manipulated capturing his thought. As his pace took him along a stone path, he felt the rough textures meet the thick, layered soles of his bare feet. The gruff textures collided in a flurry of sensation. The pleasure was the product of his understanding of Ether. It spoke to his sensibilities as he nudged it forth in his attempt to understand. His feet scraped against the ground, his legs fluid in their step. Shoulders swayed with his pace and the Transmuter basked in the light of it all.

It was midday that he always preferred. The sun over his head and the heat of Scalvoris' midday all in combination created a deep love for the city he adopted as his home. His step weaved him through passerby with ease, an easy smile cast upon his dark green countenance. Vibrant blue eyes caught the souls of each that passed him, a wink or blown kiss extended towards those he found quite intriguing. Of course, he knew his path. and it was towards the city's courtyard. Once he was content with his position overlooking the numerous paths leading into the heart of the town, he sat down, letting his thoughts dwell for a moment on the heat that permeated through his feet and the delight it brought to him.

While Mahsis had only gotten out of bed around noon, Devin Thorn, thief, con man, part-time bard and newly appointed priest of Delroth, had already been awake for several breaks - and quite busy on top of it. First, he had gone to a nice tavern in order to eat breakfast and tried to seduce one of the patrons – only to suddenly find himself facing an angry spouse with a big sword that had chased him around several blocks. Afterwards, he had unsuccessfully tried to persuade somebody to clean his shrine - for free – because it was starting to look quite unappealing. Again. Following that, he had returned home, tired as well as slightly frustrated, and decided to take a look at the contents of his treasure chest because all the pretty things that he owned never failed to cheer him up.

Around the twelfth break, he was already on his way into town again though, dressed in expensive silk and wearing a hat with a glorious red feather on his head. His sleeves were rolled up so that the feather-like markings on his arms were visible. He was exceedingly proud of the fact that he’d managed to attract an Immortal’s attention, and he just loved to show off. Showing off what he had wasn’t the only reason for his little foray into the center of Scalvoris Town though. He had decided that he would work some more that trial which, in his case, meant that he would peruse the local noticeboard, take the ad that looked most promising and con the person that had posted it.

Before he had reached the noticeboard, something – or rather somebody else caught his attention though, and his eyes instantly lit up. There was a person sitting in the town square - a most peculiar looking person of undefinable gender that was dressed in vibrant violet, with a hood obscuring their entire face. Most people would likely have wondered if they were disfigured or suffered from a terrible disease because they were covering their body with all those clothes and subsequently shied away from approaching them, Devin on the other hand simply smiled brightly and sauntered over to Mahsis because he was absolutely curious and saw an opportunity to possibly make a few quick nels as well.

“We match!” he informed Mahsis excitedly instead of greeting him and introducing himself which would have been the proper thing to do and pointed at his eyes that were a vibrant shade of violet and almost looked like two swirling nebulas. “So, what exactly are you hiding under the hood, what do I have to do in order for you to show me – and would you like some help? I know Scalvoris like the back of my hand – so if there’s anything you need, I’m your man!” he informed him, smiling the brightest and most irresistible smile that he was capable of. He could already see the nels Mahsis would fork over in front of his inner eye!
