Breathing in deep the salt air, Gangui ambled through the streets as he reflected on the recent events that had been occurring in the Landing. There had been a lot of action and fury, but no time to think. The soft clink and clatter of the fully armored warrior walking was nearly drowned out by the rustling wind blowing the poplar trees planted along the main corridor of the town.
Leaning up against one of the poplar's outside the state’s tower, Gangui took a long, cool drink from his water sack. The trials and tribulations occurring in Etzos were disturbing to say the least. Raised by patriots, the rose tinted glasses of his childhood were smashed by the fury of Ashan’s civil unrest. His hopes of escaping the clutches of tyranny were pounded into dust by the brutal retribution of the state upon its people. Things only got worst and it seemed like nothing was being done. Despite all this, he knew there were good people left both among the commoners and those in the Citadel.
A servant girl seemed to be struggling bringing a basket of freshly clean linens towards the state’s tower. Perking up, Gangui strode forward relieving her of her load, as usual empathizing with the common folk.
“I got you miss, don’t worry, I’ll follow you,” He smiled at her as best he could under his mustache, making small talk along the way, trying to make her feel more comfortable around his large, iron-bound stature.
The girl pushed open the tower’s door and Gangui held it open with a iron foot before handing her the basket again, “Alright, run along now, I’ll see you around,”
His eyes darted up the moment he sensed the presence of two big breasts. An innate ability to all red-blooded men, Gangui could spot a beautiful bosom from a mile away. Naturally he was curious as to who they belonged to. She was an elegant woman of good stock, with a seductive red dress revealing her feminine form, but hiding all the best parts. Even though he had seen her for merely a moment on the far side of the building, he could still smell the beautiful scent lingering around the antechamber.
Instinct made him draw a step into the tower to go talk to her, but at the that very moment a gauntleted hand spun him around. It was an Etzorsi guardsman kicking him off the property in sharp Ith’ession.
Thus, Gangui left the tower with one thing on his mind: the woman with the big boobs and red dress . He was resolved to get to know her, he wanted to feel her soft skin. He had been fighting and working and drinking for far too long and just the mere sight of her, left his loins ready to explode.
Rushing back to the port-side bar, a place where the good ol’ boys of Etzos drank and ate, he woke up the drunken bard, “Brandon, I have seen the most beautiful woman in all the land! Quick, come with me!” He shoved the man’s lute in his hands, though Brandon protested and wouldn’t move until he drank some water and rum and had a slice of bread. The bard highly doubted Gangui’s words, but the warrior insisted so the bard obliged.
Several people from the bar who overheard the story of the noble women, also too made their way to the tower. The whispering began: Where was their ship? Who were they and were did they come from? Why were they leaving so quickly? A small crowd began to form, expecting a herald to announce what was going on, but none had appeared yet.
Gangui leaned into Brandon, “Look, follow my lead, I am going to make a move on the woman, you come in behind and play some music that makes her want me,”
The bard raised an eyebrow, almost rebuking the warrior, then laughed shaking his head, “Gangui the ever-so-bold!”
An exquisite carriage rolled up, a wagon of the likes that Gangui and the citizens had never seen before. The crowd began to point at it, erupting in dialogue. It was made from the finest lumber in Etzos, intricately carved by artists in the Citadel. The driver sat alone atop it with several wooden levers at his side. The axles of the vehicle were the most advanced technology that they had ever seen: the front and back wheels moved independently from each other and could be locked into place by the levers. Several metal "leafs" were placed under the carriage for suspension to cushion the bumpy ride through the primitive roads back to Etzos. The wheels were made out of an unknown substance and where knotted and pitted for maximum traction. One of the citizens mentioned that the carriage was a definite product of the magic transmutation. Last, but not least, the carriage was being pulled by three strong horses.
"Boy! Would you look at that!? Huzzzah!" Gangui exclaimed as they inspected the carriage, "I'll have one of those one day, I swear it!"
Finally the two Vice queens exited the state's building with their retainer-slaves carrying their luggage. Gangui slapped Brandon's chest and nodded towards Tanvi, "That's her... on me,"
"Wow, you weren't kidding," Brandon's jaw dropped as marched next to Gangui, "But, the soldiers--"
Several things happened at the same moment; One of the carriage guards began to stride forward to stop the fully-armored warrior and lute playing bard in their tracks. The handful of shouting citizens on the other side of the wagon began to push closer to be greeted by the guards. A man with a covered mask darted under the line of soldiers and bounded toward's the Vice Queen's luggage. The Bard stepped up to block off the guard, giving the warrior a moment to get through. Gangui spotted the thief who snatched Tanvi's suitcase.
Instincts kicked in when Gangui found himself as the last man in the weasel's path. Using his combat footwork, he tackled the lad just as he was about to make a break for it. Brutal in nature, he grabbed the thief's arm and tugged him up. With the other hand he relinquished the piece of luggage. The guard from earlier stepped up and put hands on the criminal. There was plenty of shouting going on too.
Completely focused on Tanvi though, Gangui wasted not a moment before approaching her. Brandon the Bard behind him playing a lovely tune on the lute. He knew that he had only a moment to make a first impression before being dragged away by soldiers. With the best voice he could manage, Gangui smiled under a dapper mustache, a soft chuckle, and twinkling blue eyes.
Stopping at a respectful distance to Tanvi and with the Bard's lute playing, "Dropped something, my lady? My name is Gangui, what's yours?"
