"Beasut." Najina said smiling at her niece their happiness warmed Ti's heart as he returned to them, he could see the sheer joy that was provided by their meeting. Especially in the face of Vega and even though she was crying he could tell they were tears of joy. "Yes she have journal, I read often remember her with, but you have they belong you." She released the girl completely who turned to the smiling and happy Ti, his face showed his very real happiness for the pair of redheads. He wished he had chance to see some of his family, yet they were all gone, he was the last of his line.
He was taken completely by surprise when the girl hugged him, her arms enveloping him. The height difference made the hug rather amusing to look at. He sort of disappeared into her grasp, her log arms engulfing him. "You welcome, I do little really. I just help little bit, I happy you find what looking for. He stepped back and looked at the tears streaming down her face. He used his sleeve and wiped her eyes, and then turned her back to the aunt. He was nothing more than a distraction from the real purpose of this meeting. "Think you find question I sure, you wait so long they be some."
"What you want know Vega, I give you diaries and I have special gift for you. But they home, I have give you other time." The woman looked up at Vega tears on her own cheeks as she was amazed to see the girl, it was something she had never expected to see. Her surprise and excitement and joy were rivaled only by Vega's. "I show you family home one day and all you mum thing and we eat together and talk." She placed her hands in Vega's. Together they looked like mother and daughter if you didn't know better.
When Ti'niva wiped her tears with his sleeve, Vega smiled at him and tapped his arm, where his sleeve was. "Biqaj tears are good luck, you know." She listened to her aunt speak, "Beasut. You are my beasut?" Vega's face broke into a smile and she let out a laugh. "Beasut Najina. My heart is happy to see your face." There was a genuine beaming smile on her face and when she learnt that her mother had kept a journal, Vega felt the tears start to flow again. "I.. oh please, may I see them? Do they smell like her? Her words, written by her hand? I can't.... I can't thank you enough."
That she was going to be given her mother's journals made her want to grab her aunt by the arm and drag her back to the house, but Vega sat and listened intently, hanging on every word.
The evening passed and they sat and talked, the two women who were so alike physically and who found, quickly, things that were alike in terms of habits and preferences. Vega made sure that Ti'niva was as included as she was, talking about Sev'ryn customs and so on. But when her Aunt offered for them to go back and pick up the journals and the "special item" she had spoken of, Vega looked at Ti'niva like she was a child. "Can we?"
So, it ended up with the three of them in her aunt's house, Vega sitting and looking at Ti'niva in shock, delight and amazement as her aunt went to get whatever it was that she was going to bring. "I can't quite believe this is happening." She smiled at him and said, apparently seriously for only half a trill. "If you tell anyone I cried, I'm gonna punch you till you do, ok?" Then she grinned and nodded her head to him. "Thank you, Ti'niva my friend. Thank you so much." He had stood by her and helped her and, should he ever need it then Vega would be there, without a doubt. She was brash, often to the point of rude, but she was as loyal a soul as she could be.
Ti smiled at the shock and excitement in Vega's eyes, her smile made him smile. He also could hardly believe they were there, he had been sure they would find her, but not this quickly. He had never expected to find her in such a short time and with such ease. However, he certainly couldn't complain, they had found what they had been looking for and the happiness Vega clearly felt now was more than enough to make the time they had spent searching worth while. "Yes, I think too, I no think this when I leave tonight."
Ti was unsure whether Vega was being serious as she said she would punch him, but he really wasn't willing to test her. She seemed like the type who was strong, strong enough to beat him up anyway. He would keep her secret as she asked. "I tell no one, I promise." He let out a nervous laugh as he heard the aunt approaching again.
She came in carrying a small pile of three books and on top of them a velvet case, the colour of the case was a dark navy blue and the books were all bound in brown leather. "These be diaries and the top is special gift." She placed the pile on the desk and began by taking the blue case and heading over to Vega. She opened the case and revealed its silver contents, engraved with the name Lei'nox.
"This was you mum's. But it no work anymore, I know compass no work is stupid, but it was her and I want you have." The aunt placed the compass into Vega's hand and closed it around the item. She kissed Vega on the forehead with great difficulty and then fetched the diaries. Each was labelled with different years from her birth to the time she left with Vega's father. "I hope they give what you need young one." She patted Vega's arm.
With that, after they all had a small cup of tea, and the Cylus night drew on. They left all needing rest and time to contemplate on the events. It had certainly been an interesting night and excitement was something Ti imagined would keep Vega up that night. He knew if he had found such a thing he would not be able to sleep.

Comments: Well done and a pleasant thread to read. Having written opposite Vega a number of times now, it's great to see a more vulnerable and sometimes uncertain side of her than her usual. Great that she's found her aunt and has come away with something personal to remember her mother by, and learn more about her. Ti'niva:

Comments: Well done. I really like the juxtaposition of Ti'niva's inner struggle with his past, and his desire to help Vega learn more about the Sev'ryn and to find out more about her mother. I'm looking forward to seeing how their friendship grows and evolves in the future. Both: A nice read, clear and great interaction between the two characters. A well written thread. I didn't find any noteworthy structure problems. I'm new at this reviewing business so if you have any concerns, feel that I've missed something or just want to comment, don't hesitate to drop me a pm. Thanks!
