NPC: CLAYNE
Name:
Clayne
Race:
Biqaj
Ghost Class:
Phantom
Date of Birth:
11 Ymiden, Arc 505
Date of Death:
6 Cylus, Arc 540
Skills:
Materialization: 30
Syphon: 20
Painting: 26
Detection: 26
Stealth: 16
Seduction: 16
Cosmetology: 16
Appearance:
Sharp features with high cheekbones, the main feature that sums up Clayne is 'pointy' - pointy ears, pointy cheeks, pointy chin, and death has only made him appear sharper. Dark brown hair (slicked back style), gray-green eyes (almost always, but he is biqaj), and about 6 ft. in height. He wears a dark gray-colored cloak with the hood drawn, but sometimes appears without the cloak, which shows what hides beneath: a flamboyant tightly-tailored outfit of ancient fashion with ragged lace frills, faded gem-tone colors, and very pointy shoes.
FC: Eamon Farren.
Personality: Clayne came from Rharne in the early 6th century. Through the arcs, he has kept the same personality he had then - which is that of a libertine aesthete. He is vain, and prone to arrogance that is echoed from his time alive, but Clayne also has a soft heart and used to be greatly empathetic toward beautiful people.
The Arts mean nearly everything to him, and he regards such things as incredibly important. Lust is also something that drives him, as he sees desires as the very basis of freedom. He doesn't remember specifics from his time alive anymore, but he does like to talk as if he does. On occasion, he experiences vivid recollections and he will seek to materialize and attempt to paint and create art during these moments.
One thing he always recalls, though, is his death. At the hand of his wealthy patron, during a nightly rendezvous, he was incapacitated, tortured, and then slowly killed while his blood was used in a paint mix to help create a gigantic oil work. He died from blood loss.
Anchor One: A gigantic painting of an ancient-styled courtyard and swimming pool with various people lounging about. His blood is used through-out the entire painting.
Anchor Two: Every person featured in the painting was a victim of the patron, as the actual primary anchor for Clayne is a rectangular section that is the painted figure of himself lounged over a stone bench in his death pose.
Anchor Three: A set of ancient-styled oil paintbrushes (kept together in an engraved box) and a fine wooden palette.
Relationship to PC: Reluctant begrudging friends. Spent too much time together.
Additional Info: Clayne is a Phantom and has survived as long as he has because he hunts other ghosts and spirits. He tends to avoid hunting the living, with some past experiences with Famula followers that keep him away from such behavior. He is predominantly a hunter of his own kind, and a crafty and merciless one.
Death Remnant: When Clayne is around, people tend to see details they would otherwise glance over. Colors appear brighter and more vivid than usual. They notice details they might not otherwise, in cosmetic ways, such as individual grass blades swaying in the wind, or the different leaves on a branch, or the many thin strands of hair that make up a braid, etc. It doesn't improve any of their skills (detection, investigation, etc.)
Method of Death: Blood loss.
