He registered a nod of the head at the assertion that the cat had grown considerably in arcane power since they left. Woe idly wondered if he'd kept pace with his student, or if Magpie had overcome his own expertise in Empathy. He supposed though, some season in the future, he'd have a chance to sample his initiate's power for himself. He could only hope.
Woe sighed slightly when the cat complimented his little alteration to the giraffe. In truth, he was trying for the centipede they'd encountered in the depths of Rhakros. "I'm getting better every time I have a dream... It's an interesting phenomenon, this walking as you call it."
Then Magpie reminded him of the situation that followed the fall of Rhakros, the power vacuums and voids in authority that gave Sintra room to maneuver herself as the patron of Etzos, of all places. He nodded solemnly, and lowered a hand to pat Breen's snout as it whimpered.
When at last Magpie said his goodbyes, giving Woe a lick on the cheek, the gesture wasn't lost on him. He looked longingly at the becomer, and nodded, showing him his hand to give him his scent. "You too, Magpie. I hope you're right..."
Woe stood from his seat, shakily, and Breen backed away uncertainly as he moved around it. Before walking away, however, he spoke over his shoulder, "No, that's everything. Thanks for everything. You'll receive your bonus, meager though it is, very soon."
So saying, Woe waited for Magpie to exit, and then awoke from the dream.
