Beyond the city of Rharne lies the Stormlands, which is home to a number of farms, forests, fields, Lake Lovalus, and the River Zynyx. This subforum also includes the Stormwastes to the south.
The satisfying ‘thud’ of her strike made her internally rejoice at the minor victory…but there was still more work to do. She was far to close to the Ithecal and things were happening quickly around her. It was time to regroup and figure out her next plan of attack. Falling back to the circle swiftly, she noted that the target had thrown his trident down, only to be picked back up by one of the brothers who had somehow lost his weapon. The downfall of being too close to a target – missing pieces of information.
Upon her retreat, a nice little fireball landed at her feet, hasting said movement. The heat of the fireball reminded her that she couldn’t spend too long in any one position because the Ithecal had way too many weapons to use against her. Turning to grin at him softly, Elisabeth took note of everyone’s new positions and tried to figure out what he was up to. He had called out two hits – hers being one – so closing ranks on him had done what it needed to. It was a viable strategy.
Elisabeth was on the left side of him now, the others flanking the opposite sides. Telegraphing a strike hadn’t been working for anyone. His body was mostly covered by the damn shield. Waiting until his attention was on the brothers, she swiftly moved towards him again but at an angle. The idea was that if he noticed her approach, he would obviously shift but the angle allowed her to possibly evade whatever he would send her way as it wasn’t straight in. Thinking outside the box was required for a situation like this.
As she moved, she opted for a simple backhanded swing towards the neck. Backhanded swings were less powerful in most cases but did allow the wielder some element of surprise.
The signal of two hits landing on the Ithecal came as a small surprise to Vyto. Praetorum was expectadly holding back enough to allow the other participants windows of opening to strike at him while still posing a daunting challenge. As the group circled the warrior to perform a second assault he noticed how Prae's movements formed an almost perfect circle around him; having discarded the trident he seemed to have doubled down on the close range strength of his body, shield and fire. That hot red fire. Vyto's curiosity was starting to get overbearing and there was only so much he could see from the crowd. So he did the only logical thing and hopped into the fight's area.
He had been in enough scraps (most for his own life) to know how to handle himself but most were against bandits and thieves who knew not the difference between a knife and a dagger. This was the first trained knight he'd be fighting and the prospect came with some concerns, which were promptly cast aside. The more he could learn, the better.
He knew better than to just jump into the frey unnanounced so he opted to circle around them, letting everyone at least see him and acknowledge his presence. A swing from an ally who didn't know you were there was one of the worst ways to go, though he had decent confidence in his own armour. His visor took on a pale blue as he eyed the Itehcals own armour for weakpoints, finding the usual neck and member articulations soft-areas. Still the armour was impressive and he doubted his blades would even dent the thing, much less the gigantic shield in between Prae and any attacks coming his way. But that wasn't the point here; this was a training spar and hits were hits.
The brothers coordination and the other two fighters' quick footwork was starting to make the big warrior shift around more and more to try and cover every angle, something the two previous hits demonstrated as impossible. Still the veteran remained imposing, a good feet and half taller than Vyto, who wasn't particularly used to fighting someone bigger than himself. Regardless of size and to Vyto's knowledge, speed had always been the deciding factor in combat and here seemed to be no different. While the obvious answer was to simply be faster than your enemy, one could also make your enemy slower than yourself. Walking next to the biqaj mercenary Vyto gestured her to go for the Ithecals legs, a suggestion she seemed to understand with a simple nod.
Two clicking sounds revealed the blades hidden in his armguards as Vyto stepped in front of the biqaj woman, presenting himself to the Ithecal with a lime green light on his visor. "Mind showing me some of your expertise, good sir?" - he bantered, hoping to split Prae's attention between him and the brothers before lunging forward as high as he could towards the warriors face. He didn't fear the fire and at most he would end up with a few bruised ribs from a shield bash. If all went to plan, however, the mercenary behind him would use him as a veil to strike from the same angle. What better way to break a wide-spread defense than focused-point strikes? Then again, he was placing his trust on a stranger, and those kinds of situations often did not end well.

Fun fact about Vyto:
Vyto is void of most emotions, always assuming a neutral stance on everything. Despite his robot-like behavior, his visors' light changes colors according to his "mood". Any colored text represents the current color displayed.
I loved the inner thoughts as she weaved her way through this sparing match. You did a wonderful job being true to Elisabeth. She joined with the others, but still moved to her own steps with in the group. You kept the pace exciting and clear something I always appreciate in a thread.

Excellent combat thread, and excellent teaching. You did superb at crafting the battle in such a way and I felt the urgency as I read, but could follow who was doing what. You kept all the npc clear for the reader follow, and you made it possible for Elisa to shine with her part. Wonderful thread. Sad it didn’t get finished.
