“Well, it’s one hell of a goal though. But still, something to aim for.” Nathan chuckled.
“I’d be looking forward to that. So the Rosemerta’s up the river later? Their Starlight wine is a must, plus the hot bath. We never got enough of it.” Nathan grinned as he continues striking at Prae.
“Bloody f-“ Nathan hasn’t finished his sentence when Prae closes the distance in an instant and using his staff to swipe him off his feet. Nathan fell flat on the ground.
Nathan lay on the ground for a few trills. He uses the downtime to sneak in some quick resting time to catch his breath. Damn it, it’s a one-sided battle aye. We almost got him the first time, but well I guess he isn’t fighting at his full strength yet. He could fight all of us and we’d still be the ones to tire out first. Vincent and Dimitri are still energetic, Anton and Leon could be nearing their limit. Need to conserve it. No use in making it a battle of attrition too, he could end it before it comes to that. But no harm in trying right. Nathan thought to himself.
Could swipe at his legs right? That’d count as a solid hit. The thought crossed Nathan’s mind. But Nathan quickly dismissed it. He lay on the ground calculating his options. He looked at Dimitri or Vincent hoping to get their attention. As soon as he locks eyes with Dimitri, Nathan signaled with his hands to push Prae closer to him. He turned at Anton and Leon, they are still striking at Prae from his left and right. As soon as he caught their eyes he would give the same signal too. He reached for his spear but still flat on his back. He planned for Dimitri and Vincent to push Prae toward him while Anton and Leon tried their best to keep him in a straight line. Nathan slowly moved his spear until he was holding the dull end of the spear. He waited for the opportunity to swipe at Prae’s feet.
“Yeah, guess that meal would have to wait. “Yeah, guess that meal would have to wait. So it’s a battle of attrition then if against someone bigger and stronger? Anyway, earlier you said about magic right? Gotta show us after this is over. Haven't met anyone who could do those sort of stuff.” Nathan said trying to distract Prae again as he gripped the spear and prepare to swipe at Prae’s feet the moment he got close.
This is quite pitiful resorting to these acts. But well, the battle of attrition it is. If we manage to land a blow, we would regain morale. Perhaps we could do the first tactic again. I’m sure that he won’t fall for it twice, but that’s what I’m counting on. Darn it, should have taken the shields too instead of spears and swords only. Nathan thought to himself as he slightly lifts his head to see Prae’s current location.
