Re: [Eureka] Glamping

Toutouye nodded to Dandelion, when he expressed his distaste for the noise of cities. And he signed, "They have too many people for my liking." But that was all he was willing to say. Which surprised Woe, that he was willing to confide that much in a new person they'd only met as strangers. Woe thought for a moment, considering the similarities between this Dandelion and Toutouye's earlier life situation. Dandelion by his admission was one who'd never not known how to get by in the wilds. And Toutouye, a wild child himself, as Woe found him so long ago in Ne'haeran territory, didn't seem to remember a time before he was in the woods. It was all very fascinating to Woe, who'd often longed for more wilderness travel.

Still, he'd be remiss if he didn't admit that Toutouye downplayed Woe's adventuresome life. He did spend a lot of time outdoors, and moving about involved travelling through great swathes of wilderness. He signed to Dandelion, as the tea saucer lie next to him. "You're right. I found her, Soz, that is, deep in the Southern wilds." He didn't know how much he should tell Dandelion, and wasn't entirely confident of his ability to convey all of it through his hands. His signing wasn't the best, afterall, and he could but make simple statements and conversation.

"She's a good beast, though. She will make sure we're safe while we camp." He noted Dandelion's look as he considered the darkness where the beast dwelt. Was it nervousness? Or apprehension? Perhaps just a reasonable fear of a beast with a terrifying aspect. But Woe wished to assure him, "Her training is good, and she will alert us if any trouble is to be found out there. She won't make a sound, otherwise."

So saying, Woe took his hands an gathered up the tea, drinking the last of it. It was around time to put down for camp, by his reckoning, unless Dandelion thought otherwise. Woe would help with the preparations as necessary, if the survivalist wished for it.

"I think it might be a good time to make camp. I'd want to make an early start to Rharne, to see if Faith can be found there." He signed to Dan.

The pineapple of usefulness! I'm glad to see it used in a thread!

This was a very interesting, and well-written, meeting between Woe and Dandelion. What intrigued me from the start was how these two would relate to each other, and I was pleasantly surprised. Toutouye helped a lot there, I think. It's always fun when an npc can bridge the gap between two pcs, so to speak.

Faith and Eureka played a large part here, which is helpful for people who might not be familiar with either of them. I enjoyed that Faith was a point of connection for them because sometimes I feel like people forget that often, people are influenced by their relationships with others. Woe and Dandelion each have their own experiences with her, and I thought it was a great choice to use that to ease into the conversation.

Woe - As always, excellent use of your npcs. Toutouye was used in a clever way and I always enjoy chances to see him written into threads. Also, this is an environment that isn't entirely in Woe's comfort zone, but he's always stoic and maintains a sense of control, and you described that perfectly.

Dandelion - A man of the outdoors, I enjoyed seeing him interacting with someone else and how easily he fell into conversation with Woe and Toutouye. Not much phases him (another similarity with Woe) and I thought his conversation with Toutouye was amusing as well.

The collab cut off rather abruptly at the end, leaving me wanting more.

Well done to both of you! Enjoy your rewards! :D

P.S Dandelion - There were two knowledges that I, unfortunately, couldn't award you.

Field Craft: with enough skill, the wilderness can be as much a home as a city

I double-checked your CS and found a similar knowledge listed..."36 Fieldcraft: everywhere wild can be home" Please choose another knowledge and pm me the updated version so I can amend the review.

Field Craft: looking at a light source removes night vision

This is more of a Detection knowledge as it's not strictly confined to Fieldcraft, and has more to do with vision in general. I'm happy to adjust the knowledge to "Dectection", or you can choose a new skill and pm it along the with other. Your choice entirely!
