They were in a situation, both of them, of wanting to trust the other, but not being able to. After arcs of searching and hoping, the elderly woman almost dared not hope any more. He spoke to her in their shared language and she looked at him with hope and desperation but then she breathed in and a frown creased her brow. "Alright, so assuming that neither of us are lying, there are things we'd know," she whispered back to him in their language.
Thinking for a moment, she smiled and nodded. "There was a trial, I remember it clearly. She was there with her boy, you. It was a party of some kind, a celebration. But the boy got into trouble that trial, for a very specific reason....." She raised an eyebrow and waited for him to finish the story and then did the same again, and one more time. Then, the final time she told him about a discussion between her and her daughter, his mother. Martha had spoken to Genuvah the trial before, about something and he'd asked her for advice it seemed. She'd given it but was doubting the advice now. So, she went back to her own mother and asked for her advice.
Everything added up, each memory of hers fitted with one of his and vice versa. If he questioned her, then she knew.
As they spoke, she held on to his hand and she smiled in delight at every time where they concurred."Oh boy, I'm glad to have been found," she said and she sighed. "They took her, and I don't... I don't know. I couldn't get to her, but friends who went to question, they said she'd been killed. I tried for so long, but I had to try and find you. It's what she'd want, I know." His grandmother, for such she was, was clear. As far as she, or anyone, knew, Martha was dead.
Her name? It had been a long time, she told him, since she had told anyone that. Or the truth of it. "My name is Tamar, and it is good to meet you,"

Off Topic
So, at this point, we can fast forward to this season in a new thread, if you'd like? You are welcome to apply for Tamar as a personal NPC via the PSF - she would be keen to stay around. Hope you enjoyed the thread - do a finish up post and then, I'll review!!
