Specific, Zana said of the relationship and interplay between the girls and their handlers. It was putting it mildly and it was definitely unique...or at least in regards to anywhere else but here. "What Zana is saying," Theo added dryly with a slight grin, "is that you're bound to get more than an eyeful, time to time. You'll need to get used to that, and develop a knack for viewing it as the norm and just another trial at the office."i
Back to the matter of Oliver's proposal, however, Theo considered Zana's input while tapping away an overlong ash from his cigarillo. "He's got a fighter's build and flexibility," he agreed, giving Oliver a second look. "and he's got the bravado in spades. Something you might want to work on refining just a little," he advised. Confidence was good. Bold was appealing in a fighter. "But until you're able to back up your words with winning results on a regular basis, it's all talk."
But exclusive arrangements, events, a business of its own besides or alongside? "Maybe," Theo considered with a frown. Though it was much too early to consider those things. Oliver needed quite a few wins under his belt first, and a good deal of refinement. "If you're agreed to the terms then, a silent sponsorship for now. We'll revisit the rest at a later date, and see how it goes. Consider yourself hired then, as security here." The rest, well that was a wait and see proposition. As Oliver said, Saun was a slow season for fighting in Rharne.

"Thicker headed fighters?" Zana asked, somewhat incredulously. Her gaze on Oliver was beyond amused.
"I would love to, but it would be like shooting fish in a barrel you know," Zana smiled, murmuring her words as she kissed Theo's jaw, moving to his neck and chest. When Oliver admitted that he wasn't the smoothest of talkers, though, Zana simply chuckled and said nothing.
Theo's description of what Oliver was likely to see caused a smile from Zana, although she did not speak about it. He was right, there was nothing more to say. No matter what it was that Oliver saw, here it was just that, what it was. The Rharnians had a very unique attitude to sex and it was one which Zana shared. She had skills, many of which she had worked very hard for. In fairness, she would call herself an exemplary craftswoman and people paid a premium for her to use those skills.
Still, whilst she had that opinion, she saw no point in discussing it here. Theo knew it and agreed with it wholeheartedly and Oliver wasn't someone she wanted to persuade, one way or another. Given a choice between what she did for a living and what he did? She knew who of the two of them was having more fun.
However tentative the initial agreement was about the fighting, the hiring for security in the Lady Libertine was secured and Zana paused from her attention on Theo to turn and look at Oliver. "I'll introduce you to the girls here. It will be important that you develop a working relationship with each of us." She was more than genuine. "Because we need to feel like you are someone we can come to if we need help. But I'll help you with that." She would do so, and when she did Oliver would find a different side to Zana.
Over the course of the next few trials, Zana would work with Oliver to make sure that he knew all the girls. She made sure that he got an opportunity to giggle with them, to be with them informally and, he might notice, she associated him a lot with Clayton. Clayton was someone all of them trusted, he was level headed and friendly, quick witted and also someone who the girls trusted. So, she just made sure, over the next couple of trials, that she spoke of them together, that kind of thing.
That was over the next few trials, though. Right now, her attention was almost entirely on Theo and only slightly on Oliver. With a final, wicked grin, Zana simply added, "Welcome to the Lady Libertine, Oliver. I'm sure you'll fit right in."
