Harbor View Village is a section of housing found in the western half of the city. Though it is not as upscale as the more pricier, eastern side of Ne'haer, the Village is a quiet and quaint place with spacious, affordable apartments. Each apartment space comes with a bathroom, counters, cabinets, and a hearth for cooking and heating. There is an office within the Village that citizens and travelers may visit for inquiries about renting space.
Note: Players are allowed to start with a rented room here, already furnished as part of the City Dweller's Starting Package, so long as they remember to include cost of rent in their ledger! Meanwhile players that begin renting here will have the option to do so with a vacant space, meaning they'll have to purchase their own furniture, or with an additional 100 GN as a down payment rent it fully furnished from the start. However the furnishings will not belong to the PC, as they are considered property of the Harbor View Village.

Oscillette's façade is simplistic in its elegance and design given the functionality of the facility far outweighs its appearance in value. The entire complex is engineered for maximum insulation of heat (or lack thereof) to preserve the ice and prevent melting. That being said, there are no openings in the structure save for exits, and window spaces tend to be thickly glassed and narrow. Small lanterns are the primary source of light in climate controlled areas such as the warehouse and bar, while other areas may have more exposure flames and heat sources. Through the main entrance, customers come to the main lobby (which serves as the bar during evening hours). Here services and transactions for all of the facilities features are handled during day time hours. A pathway through the back leads to the main spa. Cloistered from the city proper, the area offers a number of beds, hot baths, and a large swimming pond among the décor. Offshoots from the main cloister lead to small rooms for massages, ice baths, and more. Closer to the city harbor and walls is the ice packaging complex. In a large warehouse styled setting, enormous ice-blocks are frozen in molds, cut or chipped apart, and picked up. Oscillette features a quick access to a smaller pier in the west part of the city for ships to efficiently load their cold cargo for later use. Similarly, carriages can pull around to this back area for pick up too. Residual ice chips are collected and sold in small sacks as well, though this is the least reliable way to get ice from Oscillette.
For those Ellune seeking refuge from the heat, Baelam offers lodging in his private quarters. Dug into the rock and densely structured in ice, the lower quarter is a near replication of a home in Treidhart. The residence is as cold as Ne'haer's climate will permit and designed with an array of Ellune works of art and other sentiments of Oscillus. Most rooms are simply places to store things and rest, though with the power of Nilas they may also be customized. The immediate areas of the lower quarter are mainly dedicated to storage, along with some office spaces and restricted rooms.
Note: These rooms follow the typical starting package space and item arrangements offered to players. Any upgrades within the confines of Oscillette will need to be pursued in-game. Enjoy!

The inn is a two story stonewalled building with a slate roof. It was once a manor owned by the infamous scholar, Ter Syh who mysteriously vanished during a voyage to the southern islands. The attic is home to her legacy now, which contains a vast amount of artwork, journals, maps, and old statues hardly worth anything. Accommodations consist of several small rooms with beds and woolen mattresses with few larger rooms. It is expected that all weapons are given to the server, Toben Jyers, upon entrance to Inn where they will be kept in a secure location till you exit the inn. If you refuse to give over your weapons, you will be escorted from the Inn.
Please ask your server or the Innkeeper for inquiries regarding the house special. The house special changes day to day. Entertainers, performers, and faction leaders can consult the Innkeeper for entertainment jobs.

Auminah's Stables & Mount Gear

Credit goes to Inali
Anuminah’s Stables and Mount Gear can be found just outside the town gates on a large plot of pastured land. The facility is well maintained - sturdy white fences surround the training yard, stables, and grazing pastures. Large wooden statues of animals grace the opening gates and many more can be found throughout the stables and pasture land. Massive oak trees provide a measure of shade as visitors enter through the main gates. The stables and small shop are the focal point of Anuminah’s business and she proudly maintains a large selection of horse tack, armor, and feed.
The shop and stables are both made of study pine boards and a thick tin roofs. The smell of hay, oats, and horses permeates the air surrounding the stables, while the sounds of neighing horses and braying donkeys complements the melody of swaying oak branches. Anuminah’s is never without motion - stable hands are constantly mucking out stalls and can often be seen leading the horses to and from the grazing pasture.
The interior of the shop is meticulously organized - feed and general tack are lined up along pegs on the western wall. Mount armor is displayed on wooden mannequins along the eastern wall. In the middle of all the chaos, Anuminah’s husband, Leadorel, can be seen tallying purchases and writing down the current stock of mounts that the business has for sale. Leadorel is more than happy to help any confused customers by explaining the function of each piece of equipment.
Anuminah spends most of her time in the stables overlooking the health and training of the mounts within her care. She wears a large apron with pockets filled to the brim with apples, carrots, and sugar cubes. She is equally helpful to customers, though she often asks them a series of questions to ensure that her precious horses will be going to a good owner.
This location can be self-moderated. Any requests to purchase rare mounts that are native to other regions of Idalos must be run by a prophet.

Across from the apothecary known as Every Day Elixirs resides a shop with a large wooden sign straddled above the door, with the name "Betty's Bits and Baubles" plastered across the weathered surface to landmark its location. The place serves as a shop that both buys and sells items that many would consider junk; odds and ends that people typically have no use for commonly wind up here. Upon entry one will find themselves greeted by Betty who runs the front of the store, while shelves remain lined and decorated with lanterns for lighting; along with whatever items are displayed for sale.
Being a place that tends to accumulate random odds and ends, Betty's shop supplies a wide variety of things for locals; from books and writing essentials for avid scholars to housewares and even tools for outside work. Deeper in the back of the store lies another compartment with an assortment of gear for travel and exploration, along with a secondary counter manned by Harold. He is responsible for trade and purchases made in this section of the store, as he supplies travelers with wares for any long journeys they may have planned.

Cameron struggled for years to start a boat building business in one of the toughest industries to get into within Ne’haer. His hard work and determination paid off eventually and over the years Cameron has managed to build two workshops and employ up to four staff. The difficulties of working away from a prime location like the dock, or lake is that Cameron has often had trouble keeping workers, who are usually poached by bigger, more successful companies who often entice his staff away from him with higher pay-packets and bigger projects after he has poured years of training into them.
The two workshops on site are big enough to build long ships in and keep all of the timber and tools locked away safely. Set back from the shore, Cameron isn’t able to build anything bigger than what his team is able to move with simple technology, and sometimes the journey to the shore is strainful enough on the vessels to undo many seasons of work before the boats has even touched the water. It takes a patient, trustworthy, hardworking person to accept work here, where most would warn you not to bother.

Curio's Curiosities Book Shop

Credit goes to Avrae Kyric
Curio's Curiosities Book Shop is a quaint little place. Two stories and spacious, it's packed with books on nearly every subject. Much of the books are upstairs, rows and rows of bookshelves to be revealed behind the first few that are near the balcony that overlooks the first floor. One bookshelf downstairs by the front desk has books written by the shop's owner- Curios Xarethi. Curio is often seen at this desk, busily writing his latest book while customers shop around him. However, when he's really in the zone, he gets a short temper when a customer "bothers" him to buy something. Therefore, he's recently been looking for an assistant/cashier who can handle the customers while he writes.
Curio's often has books from local writers, or articles from local journalists, on display. It will also accept artwork such as paintings and sculptures, either to display in the shop as decoration, or to sell in the shop. The price on these are negotiable. There's a back room covered by a red curtain that holds storage- extra copies of books, or rarer books that are only brought out if inquired about. Only Curio himself is allowed back there, and he's been known to smack people with his tail (as he is an Ithecal) if they try to venture there.
Feel free to stop into the shop to ask about the assistant position.

Every Day Elixirs was a wonder to behold in Ne’haer. When entering the business, people were greeted with a gentle chime of the door’s bell. It was a friendly welcoming, but one that cautions patience, for people soon realized that they need to navigate shelf upon shelf of dried herb, remedy, elixir, potion, salve, and balm
The business was established ten arcs ago in response to the increased patronage at The Crazed Corner. It was rumored that, at the time, sickness had found its way within certain hauls of seafood that were being harvested from the port. As a relief to the illness, and the depression of some failed businesses, people were increasingly turning towards the nefarious offerings that the alley offered. Alphonse opened his doors in hopes that people would turn to him, and they did. Back then, it was not uncommon for handfuls of people to be within the small shop at once. Time has not treated Every Day Elixirs well. Gone are the days where the shop was populated, and Alphonse and his wife are barely able to keep the doors open.
Due to the lack of patronage, the shelves and elixirs are covered with dust, but that does not make them any less potent. Near the back of the establishment is a rickety old, wooden counter, and behind it you can almost always find Alphonse. Past the counter lays a room that is blocked by a velvet curtain, and there are rumors that great treasure can be found there; yet, when Alphonse is pressed for information on it, he only sighs and says that is where his wife prepares the remedies. Alphonse is hoping that in the coming arcs he can find a way to turn around his business.
Self-moderation is allowed at this location, for requests on a particular salve or potion; pm a mod with your question!

The building was bought by Hal Sono not long after his arrival in Ne'haer, in arc 706, during which time he opened the shop for all that needed its services. The building itself has a ground floor and one floor above it, as on the ground floor and in the basement everything work-related is held, and Hal and his wife live on the second floor. If anyone, even accidentally, ventures onto the second floor they will be angrily chased down by a fat man with a kitchen knife in his hand, and that was what started the rumors. They say that on the second floor, besides torturing his own wife, Hal brings poor men that he kills, chops up into pieces, and then sells in his store. Whether the stories are true or not cannot be confirmed unless a brave soul went to see for themselves, but the Council of Minaih do not believe in them.
During the ten years of work, Hal has established contacts throughout the farms near Ne'haer, from which he receives daily fresh meat. He is also well-known for the fish he has in his shop, which comes straight from several Biqaj fishing ships he is in daily contact with. When someone enters his store, it is expected of them to nicely greet the owner, and to address him with "sir" or other fancy titles. If someone, however, does not, their service will most likely be horrible and they will get the worst piece of meat available, and that would be the best case scenario. Most often, the men and women that treat Hal worse than he believes he deserves will be chased away from his store, "until they learn their manners". His wife is expected to be treated like a servant, with little to no respect, much like he himself treats her. The Biqaj woman is fine with this way, and she addresses all customers with proper, sometimes even exaggerated titles, because if she doesn't, she knows what would happen.
Players are free to use these NPCs when writing about the location. The location can be self-moderated without any special permission. Please consult a local prophet about the prices of meat you are buying.
