If the small rudeness of Elisabeth's ignoring and not acknowledging Jiam's queries bothered the Bellinos, he didn't show it. He didn't mind it in truth, perhaps he'd been too forward, but he felt since she'd been so open that he should be similarly so. Live and learn. Yet, he and Vri would remember the small slight with a touch of sorrow, as relatively minor a thing as it was.
At any rate, it wasn't Jiam who led Balthazar and Elisabeth into the main chamber where the intimate wedding was to be held. When it was time, they found their way to the place where the procession and service would be held, as if they recognized the way and knew it by heart. The rest of the audience, which contained a few other faithful of Vri, Duchess Ebony Venora, and Elisabeth with Balthazar. They would wait in silent reverie for it to begin, enjoying the company of their significant other as well. Their love pleased Vri as well.
Vri stood nervously at the altar, while Faith led Anaza down the aisle, ready to give her away to her Immortal love. Anaza, despite her attempts to diffuse her nerves while with Faith and Eliza, her arm shook in Faith's as the latter led her down. Yet if Faith looked toward Anaza, she'd see no signs of distress. Anaza looked ahead to Vri, her future, and whatever it might bring.
Rose went ahead of Faith and Anaza, spreading flower petals on their path. She did her job in marvelous fashion, it had to be said, and Anaza was pleased with their flower girl. Yet, a tear trailed down her eye as she looked on the little girl, for a moment before meeting Vri's gaze with a smile.
Faith and Anaza arrived at the altar, where Faith took up position on Anaza's side of the procession while Rose fell into formation with her mother, trying to be very precise and well-behaved as she could.
Next, as the song of Eliza's came to a conclusion, the halls fell silent. Tristan took advantage of the silence to go into his speech about love, and the miraculous nature of relationships in general. Even in the face of a Divine pairing such as this, even the most earthly love was sacred in Vri's eyes, just as much as his was. When Tristan concluded his sermon, and bid the couple to give their vows, should they have prepared any, Vri was well pleased by his mortal servant.
Soon, Ayla and Wren came down the aisle, bearing the rings on pillows made of Velvet. Ayla had a smile on her face, while Wren was the picture of determination and focus. They stepped in sync more or less, as they brought the rings to the Altar. When they arrived, Wren took up position on Vri's side, while Ayla took up position by Anaza's. Tristan, as the officiator of the ceremony, would accept the rings and safeguard them for the exchange.
There was a slight awkwardness, as Vri almost seemed to wonder if he should make the first move when it came to declaring his vows. Anaza, seeing his uncertainty, nodded encouragement to him. In all likelihood, Vri was the bigger crier than her, and so it would behoove him to give them first, so he could make it through them.
He cleared his throat, "Anaza, my love, mother of our children..." His voice cracked slightly, but he maintained composure, "What can I say but this? I will never forget you. Through sorrow and love, I will maintain our love in perpetuity, unless and until Death itself shall take me." A fairly grim vow, but this was new territory for them all, even Vri, who'd maintained stewardship over many relationships, and even married a few people. He was at a loss for words. But the words he said were truly and deeply felt.
Anaza smiled, and gave mirrored vows, feeling it apropos to reflect his own words from her own perspective. "Vri, my love, father of our children..." However where his voice had faltered, hers never did. In the centuries she'd been beyond Death's grasp, she didn't remember a moment of it by necessity. But something from that experience was still on her, and she pulled from that wellspring of strength and divinity to stand before Vri. "Through sorrow and love, I will maintain our love in perpetuity and remembrance, forever." She said, correcting him with a smile.
Thus There was little else for it but Tristan to officiate the exchange of rings, which he did, and they affirmed their commitment to each other by sliding the jewelry onto each one's finger. First Vri for Anaza, and then Anaza for Vri.
At the end, there was an awkward pause, but then Vri gently embraced Anaza, she him, and they kissed each other.
When they broke the kiss, Vri smiled at the audience, and his voice boomed throughout Bellinos, with all the gravity of a church organ. "Enjoy the festivities guests and honored friends! Enjoy and remember the hospitality of Bellinos. Refreshment will be held in the adjoining hall, where we will join you soon!"
Thus, Jiam appeared at the entrance to the wedding chapel, and announced himself by clearing his throat. "Please, I would ask us all to make for an orderly exit to the adjoining hall for the celebration to continue. My lord wishes to be alone with his bridge for just a few moments, but they will join you there shortly." So Jiam smiled at each of them, and gestured for them all to fall in step behind him.
The hall was as it had been before, strangely familiar yet comfortable and welcoming to each one of the guests and wedding party. They were allowed to exit the chamber where the wedding was held, after they said their peace to each other or to the Divine couple.
Refreshments of the kind served to Balthazar and Elisabeth were on offer there, and in the center a space was cleared, potentially for the wedding party to dance if they felt like it, or congregate.
The moment, it seemed, belonged to each one of them, to get better acquainted and comfortable before receiving the Divine couple to the celebration.
