Luo Ibis
Name: Luo Ibis

Age: 21

Race: Mixed Race: (Human/Biqaj)

Date of Birth: 3rd Trial of Zi'da in the arc 695

Marks: --

Factions Joined: --

Languages Spoken: Common (Fluent) & Rakahi (Broken)

Partners: Soile
Appearance
With jet black hair, Luo stylizes it with only a slight parting to the side and not too much care in how it looks. It's medium of length, long enough to hide the man's pointed ears but not long enough to cover his neck as he takes care to keep the length consistent. His eyes and ears are the two obvious traits that betray Luo's Biqaj half with golden yet dull eye coloration and pointed ears that no human would have. His facial structure is smooth at a glance with a narrow jawline as he holds a hard look when relaxed.

He stand around five feet tall and eight inches, of relatively average height and weighs close to a hundred and eighty - give or take a few measurements. He's pale of skin with a fair complexion and marred with a few scars along his hands, arms and a few along his torso with the most significant one being on his left shoulder from an old run in. With some muscle mass, he's fit but not well toned like a soldier as someone who is built for a fight yet fit from general exercise.

His general attire is a simple approach on his choice of garments, often nondescript clothing with colors that he desires in darker areas and little care for the fashion. Luo tends to however adorn himself with small trinkets of silver or gold as a small touch for personal preference such as his left ear with silver cuffs, a silver and stone encrusted bracelet and ring on his right hand. He wears a set of boots that he considers to be the finest piece of his owned clothing, taking care of them more than his usual attire. On his hands he wears a pair of blackened leather fingerless gloves for his last bit of added style with the rest of his garments being the usual shirt, jacket and pants worn day in and out.
Personality

Rough and down to Idalos is the best way to describe Luo, he is a man who sees reason and practicality in everything. There is nothing to shroud anything with, it is how it is with him as a person with the potential to change things rather another force. Everything about Luo is an independent individual who thinks for himself first, and then others yet often still considering options and consequences that may merit from his actions. Luo doesn't hide the fact that he benefits from others well being, but isn't quick to admit it either while he stays his hand to those less fortunate.

Efficient, and practical, he works to do things quickly and effortlessly as possible, not prone to cut corners. If there is a doubt, the action is double checked before it happens, and if he cannot shake a doubt it is not done. He approaches a situation often thinking of how another would see it, often being what the individual involved or connected if not he'd see it on how someone else would think. A process of questions flood his mind when it comes to truly difficult situations, yet sometimes he has moments of boldness that almost seem out of character for himself.

To people, he finds it hard to trust someone and usually assumes another is scheming him in some way or another even when they are not. There are few people that he actually opens himself up to, even trust enough to go out of his way to help them. While not terribly social, he's no stranger to friends and acquaintances given ample time to know them. However, his childhood and abandonment issues strike Luo doubly hard with those he does open himself to those close to him and tie into both fear and concern if someone were to be in danger, in particular to Soile.

Luo is a man with a fine taste for the simple pleasures of life, he doesn't care for style nor does he care for coin. Only that he can live for another trial and move on with life. Often however he has a thrill for the more elaborate design every once in awhile, a piece of meat more fine cut than usual, or boots that are not weathered and tattered like a drowned rat. Small things get his interest, it is uniqueness that he craves in the fine goods rather than anything anyone can get. Though often times he can be seen with a few accessories adorned on him, small trinkets that usually do little to hinder his movement or bring attention.
History

Luo didn't remember much of his childhood, his father was never in the picture and the mother had passed away upon complications with his birth. For most of his childhood, it was safe to assume for Luo that his father didn't even know he had existed what with his mother being a courtesan and he a sailor who most likely gone at sea for trials even a cycle at a time. He was given then name Ke'vali from those who raised him in the orphanage where he spent a good bit of his childhood, the name was of Biqaj origin what with the boy's golden eyes and pointed ears. Yet when he grew older, the name was dropped completely as he took Luo Ibis as his own. His father had been an enigma from what Luo would hear of him, some had say he is just a simple sailor, others say he's one of some renown and some thought he was a pirate. Different names were said, it wasn't something that could be distinguished to him. His mother was a kind woman, gentle even if her profession had been what it was. With such circumstances, he was still considered a civilian in the city and had lived with many of the other orphans while attending school at that time.

The schooling and Luo had a rocky road that often struck him as a period of numb and dull, unexciting and uneventful. There was nothing going on, only what he considered to be nigh useless information other than numbers, language and basic history. A problem child, he stuck to his name and not the one given to him as the arcs went on as he fell into a terrible slump by the age of ten. For trials at a time since that age, Luo would be gone and classes would be missed even more as he slipped out at night. Time and again he got scolded harshly for his ongoing antics which only further delved into his habits further and further became closer to what he became present day. A thief. And in time, he began to develop skills not taught but only experienced.

His heritage was often sneered at by the local Biqaj as Luo wasn't a sailor or living on a boat, owned one or anything. In time he had gained a disdain to his non-human half. Not everyone of them he met were harsh however as Luo had actually made a few friends among the Biqaj community with his dealings. At times he could pass as a full blooded Biqaj which he twisted to his advantage at times as Luo had not confirmed nor denied anything, only going with what people believed. In his teens Luo had established a skillset enough to do what he can to live and obtain the coin. Of all the people he known from his younger years, he had developed a friendship with one person that he kept a constant tab on which was Soile.

Soile was someone he always had a easy relation to, and someone he was open with on what he did do for a living. While he did skip the classes, Luo kept to the studies and lived with Soile for a few years as well as he kept his old habits going strong. He had both the general education and the knowledge of his dealings at night in time, though he lacked any official connections to possible groups of thieves or a gang as he kept to his thing solo, only those who bought hot items on the street. On a few occasions, however, Luo had a few run ins with a thug or two that earned a scar or two and made him start carrying a dagger since then.

It was a set of people that he considered to be a gang here and there, of one night Luo had been confronted by three people that he only slipped out of by sheer dumb luck. Another incursion was a week later with a man named Leris, a dirty blonde guy with barely any wit of a rat. Luckily, it was only a brief threat of words between the two and he warned the half blood to not encroach on his turf, yet Luo still disregarded it. In the middle of the day, he had then began to carry his dagger more often out of paranoia and then out of habit eventually being able to conceal it with his loose clothing. In his spare time he practiced the motions of the dagger and even with a friend he trusted from his younger trials.

Luo always had few friends from his long standing issues with a great deal of people, Soile being one of the few he was actually close to but he knew others that he was a bit open to on his dealings. One was murdered a trial after he had a run in with Leris' group and another he lost connections to when he moved on to live elsewhere. At present Luo lives in the city of Na'haer still with Soile, still with his 'profession' of the night and steadily saving the coin to perhaps to move up in status.
Housing

Luo's housing is an addition built into Soile's home of a similar sized room using money he had to expand on it that could've been used to own his home. With a single door and lock that separates the two, his place lacks much of the usual furniture one would normally expect with instead a bedroll, chair and lantern. He has a scattering of unusual trinkets, mementos and a table with a journal of his record keeping. The room has a window that locks inwardly with his own touch for it to open fully so he can fit through it. Additionally, part of the floor is false where Luo can pull it up and store small things should he choose to.

Hey Luo!

This forum is very much a free for all, and there are hardly any restrictions on what you can post in here, so feel free to post character-related information if you want to. However I just wanted to draw your attention to the Plot Development and Letters From Afar forums (located within the Character Sheet forum) in case you were unaware of their existence and feel like they might be something you want to use in future to record information on your character, including any thoughts your character might have which have no place in an actual thread. :)

I like what I see so far, though :D I wish you all the best and look forward to watching Luo develop!
