Stormdust

Name: Stormdust

Product Type: Raw Material/Mundane Item

Description: Stormdust is a transparent dust that gives off a myriad of colors when light passes through it. It is created around the areas where lightning strikes sand or stone, and is considered a mundane substance that most bottle and sell as a trinket.

Special Properties: None

Price: 1 gn/oz, though it is most often sold in a small bottle priced at 5 cn. The bottle contains a very small quantity of stormdust, just enough to coat the bottom and allow for a shimmer.

Bottled Lightning

Name: Bottled Lightning

Product Type: Mineral/Stone/Gem

Description: Bottled Lightning is a quartz-like stone. It is coloured clear with small amounts of red dotting the stone. The stone absorbs lightning and, after doing so, glows for a short period of time. Depending on the amount of lightning absorbed, the stone can glow with a soft warm light or a bright white light.

Rharne is known for its high-quality alcohol, and one would be hard-pressed to find a location in the city where there isn’t at least one bottle of liquor. Rharnians believe drinking should be a social activity and a way for people to connect with each other. Many a friendship or an alliance has been solidified over the pouring and sharing of drinks. There is no drinking age in Rharne, so children are raised from a young age to treat alcohol with respect and reverence (though most born-and-bred Rharnians have at least one story of getting accidentally wasted on liquor from their parents’ personal stash).

Rharnians who were born in the city tend to have a higher alcohol tolerance than the average mortal in other Idalosian cities. While Rharne does have its fair share of functioning alcoholics, Rharnians tend to view alcohol as a supplement to fun rather than the end-all-be-all. It is more commonly the visitors to Rharne who abuse alcohol and can’t hold their liquor.

The wine is made from Dusk Grapes that commonly grow in the nearby Stormlands. It possesses a transparent, deep indigo color, bearing somewhat iridescent and mirror-like qualities that cause a glass of Starlight to reflect its surroundings in full color when placed in the correct light. The flavor of this beverage reflects the sweet delicate taste of the grapes used in its making along with flavors of plums and pears. With its bright, fruity flavor covering its rather high alcoholic content, Starlight Wine is made especially popular at parties and celebrations. Crandle

Name: Crandle

Product Type: Candle

Description: Cranberry-scented candles, called “crandles” by locals, have been sold in Rharne for generations. These thick pillar candles are 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall, and are made of a dark red wax combined with a cranberry fragrance.

The story goes that Ziell visited Ilaren during the first trial of Cylus several hundred arcs ago. He brought with him a heavy snow and a single cranberry candle. As the snow blanketed the ground outside of the Lightning Cathedral, Ilaren lit the candle and the two Immortals talked for breaks. It is said that despite the chill and the time that passed, no wax fell from the candle and Ilaren never once got cold. After Ziell left, the city experienced the most peaceful arc that Rharne has ever seen.

Nowadays, rumour has it that if a Rharnian buys a crandle and lights it at least once during each trial of Cylus, they will be gifted an arc of peace for their efforts. Crandles can be bought from the children who frequent the Pilgrim’s Ascent during the seasons of Zi’da, Cylus, and Ashan.

"Lick"

Product Type: Specialty Liquor

Description: A special chocolate liquor, and favorite of serious practitioners of martial arts. It contains notes of chocolate, rum, and is mixed in with a trace amount of paralytic toxin or venom, just enough to dull the feeling in the knuckles of one's extremities.

Said to be a favorite of many Biqaj brawlers in Rharne, and elsewhere. However, the drink is not advised in excess, or in combination with any other form of medicines or brews.

It's mildly addictive.

Special Properties: Dulls the pain of physical impact, specifically with regards to one's own knuckles hitting bone. It also acts as a anti-inflammatory agent, limiting the swelling of joints associated with physical impact and activity.
