Once Upon a Time in Rynmere...
Well hello there, thank you for taking a peek at this post. I'd like to think the title pretty much describes what this is for, but I'll gladly elaborate:Cassian will enter play in Ashan 717 in Viden. As a bastard scion of House Gawyne he'll however have spent the first twentysomething Arcs of his life in and maybe around Rynmere, the last four as an Academy student in Andaris. In that time he's surely met a lot of interesting people (hopefully including a share of fellow noble miscreants as they all seem to be), manipulated charmed them with his Empathy witchery smile, experienced adventures, ground skills (I'm not above that; Knowledges are awesome) and maybe even had fun if worst Comes to worst.
I'd like your help in fleshing this time, especially the Arcs from 711 (he'd have been 16) through the end of 716. It might be fun going even earlier for an especially good idea but he'd probably be a very creepy child before then. He could pop up anywhere in Rynmere in this time period though from 713 he'd be based in Andaris.
I can't promise you that he'll be nice to your character, but neither can I promise that he'll leave them scarred for life. I do promise that I'll do my best to make it enjoyable for you and if you do want or need your character scarred for life Cassian can certainly be leveraged to provide that.
I am actually available for purely social talking heads segments, but a couple of points of interests or hooks for Cassian in this time period include:
- Exploration -- The boy is yet untempered by adult considerations for safety and consequences for a while there. He'll go anywhere with whomever promises a new discovery. Spelunking might be a fun endeavour, as would planning a bank heist be. Morals are for people who do not trust their own sensibilities.
- Fencing, Actually -- I established that Cassian was in a student fencing society while in Andaris. No idea if there is precedent for these existing, otherwise I imagine Mensur fencing without much of the padded gear where it's as much about skill as it is about not flinching. Which would totally be down his alley. Not flinching is something he can do to an extent.
- Academic Pursuits -- His Academy years are split between Linguistics early on, maybe with a side of Mathematics, and Surgery/Anatomy later on, maybe with a dash of Medicine. I imagine he had contemporaries.
