While Wren and Garret did seem to love each other, the marriage was strained by Garret’s tours of duty requiring him to be away from his wife for long periods of time. It was during one of these periods that she met a handsome young man that swept her quite off her feet.

However, these lectures only seemed to fuel her lovers desire to have her.

In order to ensure that she would not dare to kill his child, Faldrun made it clear that should Wren harm Vivian, he would visit destruction upon her other children for the transgression. Then, he departed and the two never met again.
