Native to: Only native to Maiden's Refuge. North swamps near deep water.
Locations: Yaralon, Maiden's Refuge
Appearance: Ether's Twilight is a small plant with grass like leaves that gets about 6 inches tall. The bud, always purple in color, appears from the ground during Zi'da but remains closed until the sun disappears. Only then, it will bloom and reveal the colors within. While the colors inside will vary from flower to flower, indicating which domain magic they affect, there is always a white line separating both colors. The color combinations are as follows (from outer to center): Aberration is purple and red. Abrogation is light blue and white. Attunement is white and grey. Becoming is black and white. Defiance is green and red. Dustforge is light blue and red. Empathy is brown and black. Graft is white and brown. Hone is blue and light blue. Mirage is yellow and brown. Necromancy is green and black. Pact is red and black. Rupturing is orange and blue. Schism is yellow and grey. Sovereign is red and white. Transmutation is brown and red.
Habitat: It's only know to exist in the Maiden's Refuge swamp, particularly in the North swamps. It is found near deep water where amphibian and aquatic creatures could lay in ambush. This plants will very rarely appear through out the swamp, usually with a single flower. There are cases of up to three flowers in close proximity, but this is a very unusual sight to see. No more than three flowers will appear close to each other.
Lifespan and Development: Ether Twilight seeds drop from the flowers right before the sun surfaces during Ashan. When this happens, the previous flower immediately withers and dies, providing sustenance for the next generation. Only three seeds appear from one flower and they immediately burrow in to the ground, but this does not mean that three flowers will sprout, for the seeds can use each other for sustenance, meaning that some may die. With the start of Zi'da, they reappear from the ground and sprout a bud that only opens once the sun disappears again during Cylus. Once the sun is about to return, the cycle is born anew. Any attempt at forcing the bud open, cutting the flower, or removing the seeds from the ground will immediately wither the flower and putrefy the seeds, rending them useless. The only exception is to remove the seeds or cut the flower during the sunless days of Cylus when the flower is fully bloomed. Any contact with sunlight or moonlight after removing the flower will cause the flower to wither and the seeds to putrefy. Each time the cycle of death and rebirth happens, the flower may change their color. What type of flower appears is purely based on luck.
Uses: Magic increasing drugs and magic inhibiting poison.
Temperament:
Abilities: The seeds can be grounded in to a dust to create a drug that temporarily increases the power of a specific domain magic when inhaled. The petals themselves can be combined with the seeds and grounded to instead create a poison that inhibits the use of that specific domain magic. Each color affects a specific domain magic as explained above.
