"Never let good prey get away"

Name: Wald Lowca (vɑlt wɔf.t͡sa (wohf.tsa))

Race: Human

Date of Birth: 4th Trail of Ashan, 694

Marks: None

Languages Spoken: Fluent = <Common> Broken = <Cursive>

Appearance

Wald was never one to be around people for too long never kept himself to the standard of others. He stands 6'1" and has a Larger frame from trials of working out intensely with proper diet. His jagged face is smoothed by unkempt hair that also shields his eyes from the glare of the sun when not parted behind his ears. After Arcs of his life in the wild hunting his Golden-Brown wolven eyes became jagged and glaring, people will likely would believe he is mad at them if he looks directly at them.
At first glance people my think he is a Lotharro, this is a false assumption based on his rough appearance. He wears weathered clothing that seems to be placed on top of each other to cover patches underneath. although counter to his appearance when he speaks it is a softer tone and normally has little anger in it.

Personality

He is the loner type that speaks short and softly when he has to. He often avoids eye contact with people to avoid conflict. Due to his life as a hunter he takes things slow and steady to try and make sure he doesn't miss step, and scare his prey. When someone gets to know him he is quite soft towards them and often will do favors for someone he cares for, tho this is something someone would work for to get through his shell. The processes of friendship will feel more like he is being tamed by the other party as he has to become accustom to them and their actions.

Things Wald likes

Outdoors: He enjoys the great outdoors as it feels like his home.

Animals: Even tho he hunts animals for a living he never forgets to respect and understand them. This leads to a caring aspect towards them to not allow them to suffer.

Stalking: There is just something about tracking down and following another living being without getting caught that is just thrilling.

Things Wald dislikes

Towns: Due to the lack of ability to see very far and building blocking his site Towns makes him nervous.

Crowds: To many people, to many sounds, and way to many potential threats his senses generally overload until he gets out.

Fools: He doesn't like wasting time or energy on the daft. He wants to finish a job and get back home.

Waste: Leaving even a sliver of meat on the bone is a waste and shames the animal that was killed for the meal. He makes sure that all parts of the animal are used and dislikes when people throw out left over scraps.

History

The Lowca family have been hunting the lands of Idalos for generations. Each first born male of the family continues the tradition and chooses a territory to hunt in. This generation the inheritor of the burden is Wald, tho being the second born male his elder brother died soon after child birth due to the occurrence of nuchal cord. Because of this during Wald's birth a midwife was hired to help with the birth to ensure the complication wouldn't happen again. Tho nothing is that easy, when born and just tasting life the cold embrace of death was quickly behind him as he was unable to breath. thankfully the midwife was there to induce breathing quickly tho turning an eerie blue before finally taking his first breath of air.

In Wald's tender arcs he traveled on his mother's back during the long journeys to new campsites within his fathers territory. When he was able to walk he began his study of the local wild life that will. From there he learned how to skin the animal and how to use each part of the kill as to give thanks to the animal for another few moments of life.

This continued until the age of 10 where he was then brought on hunting trips with his father to gain skill and knowledge on how to properly hunt prey. At the age of 14 Wald and his father was hunting for deer, when they had found a large buck. This was several trails of food, him and his father lined up a shot from their bows. One arrow hit through the neck and the other through the chest. The creature began to flee while badly wounded the dripping blood was the trail they used to track the kill. When they arrived at the final resting place a large bear was already there eating on the animal. Wald's father quickly stopped the boy's movements. This loss was hurtful towards them since they would be heading home without a kill. He then asked his father why we didn't try and kill the bear for our meal back. His father replied, "No matter what happens, whether you succeed or not, if you stand up and do it right and pay attention, hunting will always give you what you need. It may not be what you were looking for, but it will absolutely be important enough to justify your trip. We both hit our marks but were you not scared of the bear my boy?" Wald nodded in reply to that as his father continued, "Then there would have been no way to strike down the bear your shot would of been forfeit and we both could of died. We don't just hunt for food but to be close to nature."

Wald continued his training under his father until he was old enough to leave his mother and father to start on his own. Bringing only what he needed to survive and a single heirloom from his father, a single necklace made of 12 deer antler fragments each from a separate generation of hunter. It was his job to add the 13th fragment and pass it down to his first born son when the time came. It may not have been extravagant but this was his proof of being a man.

Wald then moved to the wilderness around Viden in order to lay calm to a hunting ground rich in thick pelts. For this is what his life is, to hunt prey. He settled camp in several areas, but can be commonly seen near the entrance of the city selling pelts and meat to merchants and civilians, and the innards to fisherman as bait. He often ate the unwanted meat of mink since the pelt was what people wanted not the meat.He would hunt for 5 Trails before heading back to Viden to sell his goods.

Marks

Marks
Velduris
Favored
Pack Bond
The Favored is granted an omega wolf familiar, a constant companion. The wolf is significantly more intelligent than regular wolves and is somewhat bigger. In addition, this spirit can communicate not only with it's companion, but with other wolves of its pack. Karem can, at any time, contact any of the wolves her blessing grants, but they can only contact her if she chooses to listen. If the wolf is too heavily drained or badly injured it will revert to a spirit form until it is either rested or healed. The wolf can also choose to revert to spirit form at will, though they generally only do so in crowded cities and such. The blessed can still communicate with their wolf in spirit form. The wolf can tell when someone else has been blessed by Karem, and will always be able to find others who bear Velduris.
Ylfa
Image
Sense of Prey
A skill that allows the blessed to tell where a prey animal may be found nearby, allowing the wielder to always be able to find food at need. They can also tell whether people around them have weak combat skills or are easily intimidated.
Velduris Skills I
The character is granted an extra three skill points which may be spent only on the following skills: Animal Husbandry, Animal Training, Fieldcraft, Ranged Combat, Thrown Combat, or Trap Making. Any skill points granted by this Mark can break the 250 (or 100 if fast track) point cap on skills. Within these skills, the points may be spent how the pc chooses. +3 Hunting
Predatorial Instincts
A skill that grants the favored the patience and calm needed to effectively hunt, as well as allowing one to tell when their prey, whether animal or human, has taken notice that they are being hunted.
Taste of Prey
When the marked has tasted blood or flesh of their intended target, this forms an immediate and lasting bond. While only one 'prey' can be designated at basic marked, each level thereafter increases the amount of prey a marked can have. Once a prey has been chosen, the marked will always be able to find them. Over sea, desert, forest, or even through the air the marked can track down their prey to any corner of Idalos. This manifests as a smell or taste on the air that inevitably leads the marked in the direction of their chosen prey. In return this ability can be shared with the wolves in ones pack.
Sybil
Sense of Survival
The favored is able to tell what will help them survive in the wild, from what trees are safe to burn and what food is safe to eat and more. However, this effect does not work in more civilized land and it still falls upon the favored to be able to use what they find.
Regulate Temperature
Being too hot or too cold can both be fatal, and this skill allows the bearer a way to prevent that. By concentrating, they can restore their body temperature to it's natural level, whatever may be affecting it on the outside. This can allow the favored to survive anything from a wildfire to an arctic blizzard, at least as far as heat and cold are concerned. However, the hotter or colder the favored is, the more they have to concentrate.

Curse
The Curse of Krorros
Raskalarn only grants one curse to those who earn her ire. If she can’t be troubled to kill them herself she brands them with a black band around their skull. This black mark immediately communicates to any loyal to the Eternal Empire that this individual is an enemy of Raskalarn. Any who pledge her allegiance will feel themselves compelled to take the life of the cursed for daring to defy their sovereign queen. If the cursed is in the lands of the Eternal Empire? It is doubtful they will escape alive.
Capstones
Hunting Capstones
Apex Predator
Wald has crawled his way to the top of the food chain. With how long he has been in the wilderness he has learned enough about animal behavior, Wald knows how to avoid a confrontation and how to make the animal avoid one. Whenever he is in the wilderness he causes animals to be weary of him. This ability works on lower tier of predators he encounters, other Apex Predators Will be encouraged to fight. (Does not work against monsters)
Man-hunter
A man can only spend so much time alone, before even his own kind become estranged. What really is the difference between a man and an animal? The line has been blurred to nonexistence. Now men could be considered prey of this hunter.
Immortuos Venandi
Due to the encounters with necromancers and the undead, the hunter has learned a few things. The undead are not driven by instincts like man or animals, and they need a very different approach. Using their simple nature to his advantage, the hunter can now track and kill undead as he would deer or other animals. The large and more advanced undead require more forethought though, as they are usually controlled or have a higher power within them. This means the hunter must be more careful, set traps, move properly, and above all, outsmart their prey.
Treasure Hunter
Due to the hunters long trials of hunting for himself, he has learned the best parts of an animal. While hunting he gains an additional wealth from his prey. Adding 5 WP onto the hunter's wage. It is a stand alone effect, and can not be effected by other capstones. Must use the hunting skill for wealth.
Combat Ranged (Longbow) Capstones
Blind Shot
If the archer knows where you are there he can hit you. Weather you are hiding in a bush, or behind some illusion wall. The archer's aim is no longer faltered by the obstruction of view. So long as he knows where his target is, he my fire upon them.
Detection Capstones
olfactorylocation
Wald has been in the wilderness for arcs now, he has learned that a keen sense of smell is very important. Learning of many of the smells that are around him, animals, plants, even the slight change in humidity. After taking the time to take things in, he can pinpoint the location of any object with a scent in a radius. Based on his Meditation skill the radius increases, 5 meters per Tier up to 25 at GM Meditation.
Odd Abilities
Wolf-whistle
Wald is able to emit a low whistle which will make animals either more aggressive towards him OR more friendly towards him. This is a minor thing, will give a slight shift in mood. It will not stop them from attacking you if they have a reason to - nor will it make them attack you if they don't - it's just a subtle mood shifter. You decide which effect you are aiming for at the time.

sound
Double-Jointed
Wald finds himself more ... bendy, than once he was. He is now able to perform feats of contortion and do things like lick his elbow etc. He still can't rub his belly and pat his head, but he can bend his limbs in ways which he should not be able to.
Bonded
Wald now has the ability to bond with one person. With that individual only he may- up to three times in any one Cycle - take on the physical damage / wounds etc of his bonded partner. The bonding is Wald's choice and may not be refused, but once he has chosen someone he may only change who his bonded partner is once a cycle. If the wound that individual has is fatal, Wald can not take it but anything other than fatal can be transferred.

Please note - "fatal" is defined as something which would kill his Bonded partner - whether or not it would kill him.
Must be touching the bonded person to absorb damage.
