As the two made their way to the door, Wald had to clinch his fist as his heart was pounding in his chest. Though it wasn't as bad as the city even a building like this could spark simple fear in him. Using his clinched fist he began to hit the door, after a few strikes the doors opened on their own. Looking inside there was a small living area where the lighthouse keeper would stay. There wasn't much here though; a desk, a bed, table and chairs. There was no signs that anyone was staying here though, no lights and nothing seemed to be out of place. It was as if someone cleaned the place spotless before they left.
When Wald walked in his breath became visible to him just like it was back in the frozen north. The chill hit him hard as he crossed his arms shaking slightly from the cold. "No one is here..." Looking around there was a single door in the back. Pointing to the door, "There that is where the staircase must be to the top."
Walking to the back he opened the doorway so he could start the climb up. Taking care with each step to be sure that none of the steps were weak. Making it up to the glass structure where the fire would be found for the lighthouse's light.
The view from up there was amazing, Wald stared out into the world from there seeing nothing but a small wooded area. They landed on an island it seemed, there was also no signs of civilized life on the island. That would mean they are stranded here not really an issue for Wald but he didn't know about his icy companion.

Re: Drifting Waves
The frosty entity seemed to slow, as Wald pushed onward. Something... Didn't feel quite right to Sibyl. A hand is reached up to the dreamer's own head for a moment. A dull, throbbing ache resting right upon the head. It was as though Sibyl were sleeping off getting punched in the forehead. For a long moment, the icy being was compelled to look out onto the ocean, at least, as Wald entered the lighthouse itself. For a while, the entity merely stood there, staring out into the waters. As though expecting something. But as Wald began to speak, Sibyl's attention drifted away from the water. The dreamer was confused, for a moment. It was as though something was supposed to happen. Like there was something missing here that couldn't quite yet emerge.
Following in alongside Wald, Sibyl took slow, careful steps into the building. It was clear that the icy being was more than a little confused by the presence of this circular structure. Watchtowers were one thing the dreamer had seen, but never an actual lighthouse. Its eyes glance to the side, ethereal glow tracing Wald's footsteps among the strange, and eerie place. A breath is softly taken, with a soft shake of the head. Trying to rid the brain of the lingering ache, "What waits up there, though?" It asks, as the man is already walking up the lighthouse.
Blinking, it simply follows him. It had nothing else to do. This place had sprung a trap upon Sibyl and Wald.
Its icy, glassy footsteps echoed delicately, as it climbed the stairs with Wald. Freezing footsteps trace the being's walk up the stairs, and into the main chamber. ... And Sibyl was greeted with the world, sprawling out. The woodlands, and the ocean. Something still compelled it to look out, further.
... Something was in the distance.
"I think... Something's out there." Sibyl says, pointing to the horizon with an icy fingertip.

Re: Drifting Waves
Wald practically jumped to where the icy being pointed and looked out. Trying his hardest to see what was resting on the waves he noticed a ship sailing by. "That is a ship!" Wald shouted and looked over to the icy companion. "We need to light the fire to get their attention."
Rushing around into the glassy cage where the fire's fuel within a cylinder of mirrors. Searching for a why to light it Wald had found nothing. Shaking his head thinking of what he could do when he remembered. Checking his pockets he found his matches they were wet but they may still work. Leaning in he began to try out his matches they lit each time but the fuel wouldn't catch. It wasn't enough there had to be another way to fix the problem. He kept trying using more of his matches as he could not get the fuel to light.
After this defeat Wald looked out as the ship started to go farther away."What would happen if it left. What if that was the last ship. Will we be alright. Why cant I light the fire. Why can't i figure out how to do this." All these questions rushed through his head. He felt as if he was a failure for not being able to solve this by himself.
"You are not alone" The voice spoke once again. This made him look over at his icy companion as he noticed the light shining and sparkling from his body. The sun was focused through him.
Running over Wald took the hand of his friend with a smile. "I need your help come on!!" The tone was happy and exited.

Re: Drifting Waves
The light focusing through Sibyl was something that was rather potent. The dreamer was as clear as a finely baked sheet of glass. The glistening of chroma within the outlines of the person all but hinting at the possibility of using the body like a hothouse. A slow blink is given, however, as Sibyl is dragged into the room. Sibyl's skin is frigid and utterly freezing to Wald's hand. It wasn't enough to dissuade the touch, not since he was so forward in doing it, but it was enough that it sank into his flesh, and was very much an obvious property of the companion he chose to grab. A slow breath is taken in, as the person is taken into the chamber. Like a monument of glass, Sibyl stood, as the lights began to refract through the body. However... Eyes going wide...
A hole was melting through Sibyl's chest. The warmth of the beam of light being projected was killing the dreamer.
"It hurts!" Cries out Sibyl, attempting to wrench from Wald's grasp. Eyes wide. A conundrum forming.
If this was, indeed, the last boat, then the two would be stuck here. But if Sibyl was to remain in this chamber, it was likely that the dreamer's fragment would perish, with how quickly the body is losing its form near its center of mass. The shout of pain was more than enough to cue Wald into this reality. Two very primal instincts wrestled with one another. The death of a fellow human-- At least one his mind acknowledges as human, is against the very foundation of the social code between humans since the dawn of their creation. And then the immediate need for survival.
Wald was right. In the distance, he could see the distant shape glide across the horizon... This just may be the only ship here for the season.

Re: Drifting Waves
Wald heard the cry out and held his companion still. He knew this could be their only chance to leave the island. Along side this he knew the sun would attack him constantly on this island, and he could not come up with a way to keep his form cold in such a sunny area. He looked intently at the fuel that the beam of light focused on waiting for it to light. His eyes widened when he saw the flames spring to life inside the fuel.
Without thinking Wald then wrapped his body on his icy companion shielding them from the sun. He felt the cold though out his body piercing his skin. His muscles contracted in the cold as he kept his body still losing his heat, losing the feeling he had in his skin. Wald looked out on at the ocean the ship was had changed course; this gamble had worked the two were going to get off the island. He then tried to look away but could not move his head. His body was frozen in the embrace of his friend.
Fear did not over take him during the events that just unfolded. Despite his being frozen he felt warmth come from his core. His heart beat with an irregularity as he listened to a voice a comforting one to his soul, "Good job, you made a friend you will never have to be alone." That was the last thing that had happened as the chill of the ice turned into a more familiar cold.

Re: Drifting Waves
Sibyl awoke with a confused expression on the face. Sleepless nights were becoming more common, but now, it was like there were strange dreams beginning to ebb into the student's mind. Chest softly heaving, it wasn't a particularly bad one... But it was confusing. Slowly shaking at the head, Sibyl simply stuck a leg over the bed's side, and shifted off. Yawning, most of these actions were done out of instinct. It was becoming a force of habit to write these dreams down. Even if they were half-remembered, and confusing. Truly, Sibyl barely could remember faces out of the dreams themselves. They were experiences, and Sibyl was, in the end, just a part of the ride. A slow shake of the head is given, as Sibyl leans over the table most commonly used for dining in the student's abode.
With bare feet upon the stone ground, the student was sluggish, but still somewhat quick to write down what was remembered. The scratching of quill against a loose piece of parchment could be heard. Blinking groggily. Only a single lantern lit the place, and Sybil's cursive was sloppy.
This would be a dream that would be partially forgotten. Only the key impulses remaining. At least, between what could be read upon the paper itself, and what could even be remembered of it. Something about a lighthouse. A fisherman. Something about some kind of shadow thing beneath the ice. It was confusing. And in Sibyl's groggy mind, an attempt to make sense out of this vague information was attempted.

Comments: You guys have such ominous/epic dream ideas, I'm living for them. This one was incredibly cool and I liked the creepy/lighthouse/nautical theme to it. Good thread and enjoy your rewards!
