History of the Company: Founded in 654, the Shadow Bitches are a relatively new company by Yari standards, but any who are familiar with the unspoken hierarchy within the mercenary profession knows these women to be premiere. Stories are still told of the "Shadow" that passed across Fool's Run a half-century ago when over of a hundred of Audrae's daughters passed basically unscathed through on their way to the city. Many a beast rose up to challenge the migrants, urged on by fearful spirits it was said, but none could withstand the bladed whip wielded by the company's leader, Zanderia. It wasn't long after their arrival that the Shadow Bitches were formally added to the roll in the Temple of Chamadarst, ready to make their presence felt here in the East. They have steadily grown in size and prominence ever since.
In the arcs that followed, success seemed to breed in their shadows. Armies, syndicates, and cities were consistently infiltrated and sabotaged by the company, facing only minimal losses. Disaster struck in 717, however, when the Shadow Bitches involved themselves in escalating conflict between The Eternal Empire and Nashaki. Contracted by the latter, over three dozen of the original Naer who immigrated with Zanderia planted themselves within the Empire, waiting to strike from within. There was a security breach, though, that ultimately led to the capture and execution of the spies. The Bitches' commander narrowly avoided arrest herself and escaped back into Yaralon, terribly wounded by the failure and by the loss of her friends and family.
Since then, Zanderia has shifted her company's focus to the Northern Border that presses against the Empire, eager for every opportunity to strike against Raskalarn's lands. When not abroad on foreign contracts, members of the Shadow Bitches can be found dividing time between Heaven Fall and their outlying village, Gap-Tooth Mine. Given their size and the numerical limitations of their chosen specializations, it is not often that their presence is absent either domestically or abroad at any given point in the Arc.
Additional Information: The Shadow Bitches now operate in cell of six with only a single member of each squad having contact with a ranking officer. This is in an effort to prevent security breaches that would jeopardize larger operations
