There was collectively the mutual bound respect in meeting each other together, all brought on by the brief sense of urgency in regards to the massive hound. But of course such was to be expected when one found their self among peers, particularly when those peers had interests which aligned with your own in some way. It had become a quickly noticed thing between the lot gathered there, especially when two Defiers were at present with one another much like there was now. And so the discovery of the large skull led to the reveal, in which two defiers accompanied a fellow mage who so happened to be a necromancer.

But what did he seek apart from this massive skeleton? Trevor had barely met anybody who could use Necromancy, as most who were discovered were either banned or executed from Lysoria. Typically the former but Trevor remembered the one time a Necromancer greatly offended House Amelle, which that in itself was a fun story to hear from Phelix when the conversation came around. "Curiosity and wonder? Well, you certainly have managed to manifest that." Trevor admitted plainly as he knelt to briefly brush a few fingers across the exposed bone, still a little uneasy over how large this thing truly felt from the ground's faint shudder.

At the exchange of a question and answer Trev noted the importance of it's full skeletal remains, otherwise the Necromancer would find it impossible to resurrect the great beast with his Spark. In the Defier's mind such great and magnificent things shouldn't be disturbed, for the land had reclaimed it as it's own and nothing more. But of course it wasn't like the earth had any use for it, as it was only the impressions Trevor gave which only felt menacing. What great beast could have roamed these lands before their remains wound up here? Truly it was astonishing to have discovered such a thing, and while the curiosity in him was aroused in a delightful manner; he still couldn't shake off the wariness felt in the forewarning either.

"They may very well be scattered in other places..." The Pyromancer remarked almost cynically with a glance to his fellow Defier. "If we ask nicely though, the earth may be inclined to help us uncover them." It wasn't so bad of a suggestion, even though the three mages were limited on their Ether reserves at the moment. Trevor certainly wasn't against it as he wanted to learn more of this beast, and this seemed like an incredible chance to do so if they actually pulled it off.

A complete skeleton. That would certainly make things more complicated. Although he supposed it made sense; the few times he'd seen the products of necromancy, they were always whole, at least before battle took its toll on them. And those had been the freshly dead, or previously prepared. How long had it taken for the mountain to bury this skull, he wondered? Arcs, certainly. Long enough for scavengers aplenty to take bits and pieces of the rest and scatter it all around.

Carefully, Praetorum descended into the hole, rapping experimentally on the skull. It seemed solid, at least enough that he was convinced it wouldn't break if he helped to dig it out. The hound—Njama, if he recalled correctly—was making good progress on its own, but he couldn't help but think...

He raised his head, smiling slightly at Trevor's comment about the earth. "Exactly what I was thinking. We just need to uncover a bit more of the top, I think." Kneeling down, Praetorum placed a hand on the dirt still covering the back half of the skull. And then he pushed gently, more a suggestion than anything else, and the earth receded happily for him, settling into a mound on the far side of the hole, and exposing the top half of the skull. Scrambling over to the other side, Praetorum gently patted the pile of dirt in thanks, then hooked his claws under the skull.

"I think," he said then, "that if one of you takes the other side, we should be able to lift this thing up."

Re: Receiving Head

☠ Receiving Head ☠
Image
☠ At Praetorum's request, Cervantez and Anansye both went to each side of the front of the skull, both men taking an exposed eye socket in their hands. With a count to three, all three men lifted the skull up and out of the earth. With a roar, the lothar and his friends pulled the top half of the skull out of the ground.

The bottom jaw was still covered, and Cervantez called for his hound. Excited, Njama trotted over and under his master's instructions, began digging out the jaw of the massive skull. Flaming orbs watched with anticipation as the Massibex made quick work of the soft dirt, revealing the lower part of the skull. With Anansye's help, Cervantez lifted the large skull from out of the pit.

He ripped a piece of cloth from Anansye's robe and began buffing away the loose dirt on the skull. His flaming orbs fixed on it, he could feel his spark resonating with excitement, as it like bones, at least thats what he gathered from whenever he used his necromancy. Even still it was a marvel to behold.

He ran his hands along the top of it, feeling and immersing himself in the grooves and divots that ran across the cranium. Anansye, seeing his master so enthralled cleared his throat in order to gain Cervantez's attention.

【"I must say I'm uncertain of any creature that could have a skull this large. As beautiful as it is my lord, what exactly do you plan to do with it?"】 he asked kneeling next to Cervantez.

A moment of silence passed between them before Cervantez stood, turning to both Prae & Trevor. Rubbing his chin he thought for a moment and then smiled.
"I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but for now I plan to collect the rest of the skeleton. I don't know how but I will do my best to assemble whatever this magnificent creature is."

As he noted that he placed a hand back onto the skull and from there, witnessed something even he couldnt explain. One moment he was standing there with everyone, the next he was in complete and utter darkness. In a flash, he was overwhelmed by the feeling of eyes gazing intrusively at him, whipping his head around to see burning flaming eyes open and glare at him. Even with his level of discipline he couldnt help be wracked with fear.

Then his eyes widened as a flaming maw opened up and expelled flames, only to bring him back into reality. With a startled jump he let go of the skull, growling in pain as something was burning on his finger, looking down he found a ring placed upon his the middle finger of his demonic hand. His brow quirked as he tried to remove it, but it wouldn't budge at all, as if it had adhered to the finger.

With a sigh he let it go, for now, looking at the others.
"It seems I'm going to be very busy this coming cycle. I have a feeling this is the start of a much bigger adventure."
he said with a smile. ☠

This thread had a solid supporting cast, and Cerv needs to control his hound better, he nearly mauled Trevor. I like how the effects of Emea's disappearance was felt within the story, cautious of using your either reserves. The one downside is the story went by far to quickly, an extra round of posting in the beginning would of tied the story better. Though aside from that, the thread went very well. Prae's little side saddle stunt could of caused him his life, thankfully he trusts Sivan not to tumble out. This was a nice read though, and I hope to see more.

Cerv, you put the enchantment onto your ring instead of the skull like in the PSF ticket. As the ring was not mentioned in the ticket I moved it to the skull properly. If you wish to change that, please talk to squirrel as your overseeing mod for this plot.
