The siege against the forward camp of the Death Nel Raiders had held the line for a couple days straight. Valiant warriors all, driving back and preventing the incursions by the demonic hordes. The demons had given their worst to the barricade, with their very worst yet on the way. Big demons, medium sized demons, demons armed to the teeth, demons using poison weapons and ranged weapons. All of them were halted and driven back by the raiders, yet no headway had been made into the fracture itself.

Alaiwa and Kisaik sat astride their respective mounts nearby. They watched the carnage with concern, waiting for the moment to arrive, when their help would be instrumental. Kisaik had a hunch, ever since hearing about the demonic hordes pouring through this burho, that his help would eventually be needed. While he was of little use against the human-sized and even sub-human goblins pouring out of the fracture, he knew it was only a matter of time before the demons devised a breed that was perfectly designed to overcome any such barricades and barriers.

And he was not wrong, especially on this day of all.

A large, bloated demon emerged from the fracture, and began lumbering down toward the Barricade. Its belly bursting and churning with the movement of what some might suppose are intestinal parasites or some such. The commanders of the Death Nel Raiders called for the rest to avoid engaging the thing, as it made no overt moves toward aggression. It merely meandered along the barricades, as if drunk or lost.

Finally, one of the raiders got restless, and stuck the thing in its belly. At first, there was a silence. A quietude that resembled a drowned person getting sucked under a quagmire, unable to scream against the liquid sand. Then, a low groan sounded from deep beneath the Demon's folds of fat. It's pallid skin grew purple. Its skin drew taught, and began to sink into itself. Then, it happened suddenly.

The large demon burst into a horde of smaller demons, hand-sized little buggers that were threatening to overcome the barricade.

"Alaiwa! We must to battle!" Kisaik sang in tree-talk, drawing his lance out from it's sleeve. The metal shaft gleamed with reddened steel, and was about twice in length the height of Kisaik himself. "Finally, time to challenge a foe our own size! We must make for the breach under the barricade! They're trying to push through..."

Thus, the two raced for the little openings in between the rubble and scrap that existed in the barricade. The smaller demons would easily be able to bypass these.

Thus the demons latest attempt to break the siege of the Death Nel Raiders had commenced.

Wee Little Demons
☠ The sounds of Njama galloping toward the Demon burho echoed as him and his master raced toward where the sounds of fighting were coming from. There were two reasons why he wanted to be a part of this endeavor, one being the chance to experiment on the demon corpses with his necromancy. The second, to protect his people, his city.

Leaping over the barricade, the necromancer was greeted by people running in fear. Trying to get a grasp on what was going on he heard the roars of familiar foes.
"Demons"
he whispered and took off in the direction in which the wails originated. In his mind he was glad he arrived when he did, there's no telling what has already transpired before then.

The demons were on a rampage and he didnt need any instruction on what to do next. As he rode on he saw that the path to his left lead to a rooftop, a perfect vantage point for attack. Using it as a launching pad, Njama lept from the rooftop, pouncing on to several smaller demons biting the head of one clean off.

Cervantez shot off of Njama, greatsword in a slashing position, and took the first demon he came across down in his descent. He used its collapsing corpse as a springboard to cleave another demon down as well. He rolled out from that attack and came up next to another demon, ramming his sword into its face.

Twirling the massive blade in his hands he got ready for the next wave of encounters. In doing so he sent his ether out, using his necromantic prowess to seize control of dead mercenaries and yari in the area. Calling them to his side he was set to face the next wave of demons.

When they came he let out a rallying roar and charged them, his undead fodder following close behind. His force and the wave of demons clashed within the demon burho and it was set to be a battle to remember. ☠

Kisaik said no more, but charged straight for the breach, his steed barreling over the tides of tiny demons as his lance skewered the little things, making a kebab of an entire score of the things. When at last his lance had taken on more weight than his arm could bear, he threw it aside.

"Alaiwa!" He said, and not a moment after Will o Wit was in the air, sailing toward Kisaik. He grabbed the blade out of the air, juggling uncertainly as it hopped in his hands. Soon after he righted his grips, the tides of little demons found their courage, and began to converge on him.

"Tree Burho!" He cried in tree-talk. Thus his battlecry sounded, and he rushed through the horde of little things with his blade slicing this way and that. "For Rabu!"

Slate joined the slaughter, slashing the little things, and even singling out one or two for eating. It gobbled the things down after crunching their necks and skulls, and then moved on as Kisaik guided him.

His claws snaked out from behind the plate barding, accompanying swings of Kisaik's own blade. The Tree knight cleaved up and down, left and right. As they rushed through the throngs of evil-doers, one of the smaller and more agile demons jumped up over Slate, landing on the front of the saddle.

Kisaik hopped out of his seat, and sent his Toseorun blade caving down on the middle of its skull. The thin blade cut easily and swiftly, from crown to his midriff. The tunawa grimaced as he kicked the viscera away from the pristine barding of his steed.

It was then he noticed the large Necromancer, the one that had taken part in the restoration of the first tree, as well as other adventures he could remember. "Large one! Use your feet on some of these little demons, we're getting a bit overrun!" He spoke in Xanthean.

Alaiwa meanwhile was doing well enough. Angus was a vicious fighter, and the tunawa himself was good enough with a blowgun when shooting into a crowd. Kisaik counted at least three little demons to the squire's credit.

As he watched his squire laying waste to the demons, he beamed with pride.

Little did he notice a large demon looming from behind him, until it's shadow fell across his body.

Company: Fellow Warden| Theme: Song of the Ancients| Thoughts: I like the feel of the hammer| Mood: Focused

☠ The death wails of demons, the moans of the undead, and the symphony of steel clashing with each other. The orchestra of battle was in high swing as Cervantez, his thralls, and Njama fought against the horde that came after him. The blade within his hands was an instrument of carnage as he cleaved his way through the bodies.

It was invigorating, as he was able to go all out as he could, using his raw lotharro brutality take over. Limbs flew this way and that way as he hacked down the bigger threats, though one got the better of him amidst the fray, knocking him a few feet away, and his sword from his hand. The initial impact knocked the wind from him, but it passed as soon as he got to his feet.

Now he was weaponless, and the demon lunged forward to try and take a bite out of the necromancer, only to be stopped by something harder. Cervantez had brought Sunbreaker to the mix, and there was no better time to try it out than now. With a kick to the gut, the lothar sent the demon skidding away from him, hearing another smaller one come upon his left.

Parrying the incoming demon's weapon Cervantez caved the unholy creature's skull in with his hammer. The weight of the weapon felt right in his hands, to which he gave it a twirl in his hand. The weapon was unique and now that he had it he could put it to great use.

A smirk painted his face as he looked to more incoming demons, charging at them the hammer igniting with a flaming glow, flames enveloping the head of the hammer itself. Just then something caught his attention, well more so it called for his attention. Hearing the plea of his fellow warden, he nodded, calling one of the thralls he raised to come and help stamp out the tiny monsters for the Tunawa. ☠

Re: [Demon Burho] Wee Little Demons

The little demons behind Kisaik were stomped out easily by the other Yari and troops who were coming to reinforce their position. Although Kisaik failed to notice the shadow of a large demon looming over him, Yaffy, his gray cat was not so easily sneaked up on. Thus it bolted forward before the large club came crashing down where Kisaik would've been.

Kisaik swung his Will o Wit with abandon still, weaving in between the legs of the many Yari coming to reinforce the barricade. Feeling inspired by their presence, he reached into his shadow, and pulled out the Shadow Gladius, or Shivvy as he'd taken to calling the blade. It glowed and smoked with shadowy power, and radiated cold dread to any of the weaker willed enemies of goodness and order. Enemies such as these tiny demons.

Kisaik tossed his Will o Wit back to Alaiwa, who stumbled trying to handle it at first, but then righted his grip and began using it himself, having run out of blowgun ammunition. Kisaik took Shivvy and began extending his arm, to poke the demons wherever they lay. A entire troupe of the tiny demons routed before he and Yaffy, as they charged, barreling down on the doomed demons.

With every stab in the back, their dread only grew, and Kisaik's bravado soared. "Fall to my hand! Fall to Shadow Shiv!" Kisaik cried, using the magical shadow sword to hack and stab down each and every demon in the troupe he'd put to rout.

All surrounding, the battlefield of the Barricade was chaos, with Yari and demons alike falling and claiming victory at turns, none of them gaining the upper hand. That is, until Kisaik reached the gap of the barricade, through which the tiny demons were streaming through.

"Alaiwa! Watch my back!"

The young lad galloped over atop his steed, Angus, and the little terrier tore and ripped into demons left and right, all of which fell to nothing as soon as they were dispatched. Kisaik held the bottleneck that was forming in the barricade, intent on using these dead bodies and junk to reinforce the gaps.

The demons seemed to come without interruption, however, but Kisaik was well positioned to stab and slash them down where they stood, chopping and hacking when necessary with his whip-like, rubbery arms. The creatures plinked their slings and knives and clubs off of his mossy armor, but none of them penetrated the mossy plate armor. Here or there, something would get through to land a hit where the plates didn't cover, yet they were of minimal concern.

Alaiwa was fighting back to back with Kisaik at this point, Angus angrily barking and chewing up demons as they practically offered theselves up for the slaughter. It was getting desperate, Kisaik would need to think of something if they were to end this invasion. Finally, he held Shadow Shiv aloft, for all the little demons to see. It radiated with shadow and cool menace, giving them pause for but a moment. Then, Kisaik shouted a resounding battlecry, and threw the weapon into the rubble that made up the barricade.

After having combed through the wreckage that made up the junk of the barricade, the demons had weakened its structural integrity. All it took was a little plink of his shadow shiv, tossed into the rubble in order to bring it all down. Thus, was the gap closed, and the menace of the tiny demons was averted. The demons would have to try bigger and harder next time, if they planned to get through.

Kisaik went over toward the Death's Nel commander at the back of their lines, and saluted him, "I've taken care of your little demon problem!" He announced in Xanthean.

The Raider shrugged, and spat to the side, "Very well. Collect a few ribbons as a favor of our company. You've all fought hard and done well today. There will be more battles tomorrow, though, you can count on it."

Kisaik grinned broadly, and flourished with a bow, "And you can count on me to try to fight them!"

So saying, he and Alaiwa rode off into the sunset.

I was wondering how a tiny tunawa could possibly make a difference in a battle and this thread demonstrates that anyone can make a difference. Having the creativity to come up with these ideas is impressive in an of itself. You make it easy to put myself in Kisaik’s shoes and imagine what it must be like to deal with the “little” problems. Good idea taking advantage of your environment and enjoy your rewards.

It looked like Cerventez had a plan for attack and knew to take advantage of his surroundings. It showed me that he knew what he was doing during the battle. You were true to your own advice too, and demonstrated that Cerventez doesn’t have to rely on his thralls to make a difference. If you would like to claim rewards, let me know.
