Ashan 114, Arc 720
Since Bella Tollan, the woman that he wanted to spar with that trial, would be finished with her current training session before long, the Mortalborn made his way downstairs from the first floor where he had watched a Menochoros class in order to pass the time. What he had heard and seen had greatly appealed to him. It had been a while since he had learned a new combat style, several decades, in fact. Maybe, he decided, he would sign up for one of Lida’via’s classes before he left the Fitness Centre for the trial, but for now he made his way to the front desk where Ashton Reed, the receptionist was still sitting and going about his work.
The human looked up from the form that he was filling out for a moment and smiled at him before he focused on his work again. The Mortalborn himself was just about to sit down in one of the chairs next to Ashton’s desks when he noticed someone approach from the opposite direction. Bella Tollan was a tiny redhead. When he had first met the human woman, he had not been sure about fighting her, but he had quickly come to the realization that she could hold her own in combat. She would never be his match – few would ever be, which was not arrogance, but a mere fact – but she came closer than most, at least.
“Professor”, she greeted him and smiled at him, her green eyes twinkling. She was dressed in a simple grey top and pants, clothes that she would be able to move in comfortably and effortlessly, and she wore her hair in a thick braid so that it would not get in the way during a training session or a fight. “I take it that we’ll work together next? I can’t see anybody else here, at least”, she remarked and let her gaze drift across the room for a moment before it settled on him again, and she looked at him questioningly.
“That is correct”, he replied and inclined his head, returning the smile. He had heard rumours, that Bella was or had been involved with Lord Wyllum Tariq, an aristocrat with a love of alcohol, but he had never been particularly interested in gossip. Bella was quite a competent swordswoman, and that was all that mattered to him. “None of my usual sparring partners are available at the moment, and Mister Reed said that you might have time”, he explained. He regularly came to the Fitness Centre to train, for a number of reasons.
“I do”, Bella confirmed before he she gestured for him to follow her. “One of the private rooms down the hallway is empty at the moment”, she told him as they walked. “To be honest, I look forward to sparring with you again, Professor. It’s been a while”, she continued and laughed before she opened the door to the training room and entered.
Doran followed a few steps behind her.
