It made sense. At least now, in hindsight, something about twenties, right? You know how you have that thing where you are aware of things around you without actually looking at them. Occasionally, you'll be aware of them because of smell or touch but it's more of an extra sensory awareness. Sort of. Like, someone is staring at you, at your back, and you just feel that something that makes you turn around, like you could actually feel someone seeing you. Or how skilled combatants are sometimes capable of dodging something they can't see? Sure, luck, you say, but then, it happens to them regularly, if you ask them about it. Now, take any one of those and imagine what it would be like if someone just came up to you and told you exactly what that was, where it came from, why you had it and how it worked. Too bad that never happens.
Everyone was out and about, the shared apartment empty, aside from Sintih. Until a few bits ago, he'd been standing near the wall, staring through it at the city of Viden, unseen by any of the people outside. Not that anyone would pay attention to him even if they could. The view would have been appreciated as magnificent by many but Sin was not among them. He simply stared out over the rooftops around him and the mountainside that half of Viden was built into. That's where the people of means lived, or at least, the higher up you went, the more important and, or, richer the inhabitants became. Those living at the bottom meant very little, even though that's where the most people lived.
Despite having been far away, at least mentally, Sin had been in the here and now the moment he felt the cold pricking the crystals that made up his toes and the soles of his feet. You learned to pick up on those things when you lived in a body like Sin did. He sat himself on the edge of his bed and took of his thick socks, dropping them on the ground next to the bed before pulling his feet up on the bed. He didn't bother with arranging the sheets before crumpling them even more under his weight. Despite the temperature in the room, despite his best attempts at bundling up, the cold still came. It wasn't truly a cold but those who had examined his illusion had found that the illusion translated what was going on into a perceived cold, a lack of body heat. And so Sin had come to think of it as a cold when it had in fact, very little to do with temperature.
