Hello there,
Hope everyone's doing great!
I'm here with a question regarding ghosts.
Was looking into ways how Nicholas could be initiated with magic without his consent and so far the only option seems ghost possession:
"A domain magic spark will often attempt to forcibly initiate someone possessed by a ghost who carries a spark. The mage can fight the spark in order to keep it. If this fails, the individual of dies. However, sometimes they survive in a mental and emotional state similar to having been flayed or having had a spark removed, resulting in nightmares, ptsd, and other trauma. Either way, the spark returns to the ghost. If it succeeds, the person acquires the magic at 0/250 points, and automatically becomes an Anchor for the ghost. If the ghost is at their anchor limit, their newest created anchor becomes undone and is no longer attached to them."
So, after a while of pondering I wrapped my head around the fact how in this situation a ghost could be counted as Magic Mentor even if you are a anchor.
What, though, I was more curious, is if the Ghost would still be under Magic Mentor tag even if he doesn't do any mentoring ( The idea was having a novice mage possess Nicholas). Would they still count as NPC's owned by the city and, such, limited on what I can do with them (Plan was to exorcise them at some point).
Thank you for taking the time to read this and see you on the other side of Idalos ^w^

Heya, oh yes in the case of a novice mage, that would likely be a city npc, and not quite to the level of a magic mentor. As such you'd want to through the city mod for this npc's creation. It sounds like an interesting way of initiating. What, though, I was more curious, is if the Ghost would still be under Magic Mentor tag even if he doesn't do any mentoring ( The idea was having a novice mage possess Nicholas). As for magic mentors giving no mentoring... there's a sad trend of mentors that go out for cigarettes and sadly never return to a pc's life. Kidding aside, I would go ahead and see about consulting your city mod for arranging this sort of scenario.
But only if you're 100% set on having it occur this way. I suppose it could be allowed to make them a personal npc after the fact of the initiation. But as the rules stand, no personal npc may have domain magic. Ghost or not. So it may be a bit dodgy.
