[Skill] - Martial Art (Karem's Wolf)

Name: Wolven Wrestling

Image

The techniques are common among Karem's followers and blessed.

This art of combat is taught to each wolf on Idalos. Taught by play fighting between wolves, the art focuses on grappling with your adversary. Once pinned you either clamp down with your jaws to rip flesh, or begin to rend using kicks. It is a similar situation for the humanoids who have learned this art. Grabbing your target to the ground, and gripping in with your arms hands and teeth. This is a most barbaric way to fight, and is not suitable for noble fighting. The people who use this style are usually outsiders, and care more about effectiveness then showmanship.

Strikes in this style tend to be limited, as most attacks have the aim to grab hold of the opponent. The better the fighter, the stronger the grip tends to be. Masters of the art are known to rip skin with their grip strength. Once taken hold, the fighter begins to bite or kick their opponent. This could seem like just a child or an untrained fighter, but each kick is meant to rip off clothing or skin. The bites all aim to draw blood in vital areas of the opponent, neck, forearms, shoulder anywhere that the vessels are close to the skin.

Complimentary Skills

Endurance: As this style is taught through combat, endurance helps you survive your practice sessions. Since you will either practice with wolves, or someone who has done so before you.

Strength: This allows you to pin down larger opponents. It also helps with your grip strength, using it to great effect. The only factor in a fight that you may control is how much power you put behind things.

Meditation: Despite or rather because of how aggressive the art is, Meditation helps you to keep calm. The use of meditation can allow you to make more calculated choices. As without it you will be attacking like a wild animal.

Discipline: Discipline helps you not give into the animistic urges this style brings. As you will have plenty of taste of blood, most not your own, It helps to keep any unwanted outcomes to happen in a fight.

Acrobatics: You need to move around your opponent in order to get to their vitals. Acrobatics don't need to be flashy but enough to avoid a few of the enemies attacks.

Tactics: You will need to know where the most vital areas of the opponent is. Tactics allow you to attack the area that will be most effective for you to strike at.

Notable Techniques

Grapples: One of the first techniques learned by people and wolves who start learning. They start with simple moves like grabbing the opponents leg to get them on the ground. Moving to controlling the head to move them down.

Grips: One of the Cores to the technique. The grip strength of the person practicing is very important. From gripping areas that blood flows from, to gripping into someone's muscle to cause them to release. The greatest of the art will not let go, unless the opponent looses a layer of skin or worst.

Ripping: Using everything in your disposal to win, that means using your nails to dig into skin. Moving to try and shred off clothing, and expose the more vital areas to the attacks.

Biting: You should never be afraid to bite down on your opponent. More then likely you be aiming for the neck to try and cut off vital supplies to the head. Or to just crush the wind pipe in your jaws. Though you can go for the wrist, to damage the hand causing them to be unable to use it for more then slapping.

Kicks: Once you get a hold of the opponent, you will begin to kick into their stomach. Though instead of doing blunt trauma, these kicks slide down the body. Tearing as you keep going, it is all about how quickly you can cause damage to them.

Pinning: This combines many of the techniques in the art, all of them together allows you to keep your opponent down. It is all about the control of the head for the pin, that means you are either gripping or biting into their neck. This technique opens their body to ripping kicks or other moves to cause damage.

Re: [Skill] - Martial Art (Karem's Wolf)

So this is a fighting style that focuses on grappling and opponent and causing them to bleed out? Brutal. I like it.

The only thing I would suggest being considered is how teamwork fits into this fighting style. I say this because I foresee many followers of Karem using this style, and her mark abilities grant them a whole pack of spirit wolf companions. A short sentence noting how a practitioner of this style can team up with their wolf pack to make this effective might be beneficial to may players.

Otherwise providing the skills tiers section is completed to a similar standard as the rest of your work I'd be happy to approve this. I notice that it's been a while since this skill was first suggested, so could I please check if you have any plans to finish this work in the near future? It's a nice idea and I'd love to see it completed.
