Born and raised in Vorkund, Melrath as a son of Raskalarn and a Lothar, Ralgar lived a simple life in the harsh wastes. With his father helping him along the way and telling him that he was born to Raskalarn, the Immortal of Conquest, Ralgar always believed his destiny to be a fighter. For many years he sought to join the military of Melrath as his father had, yet he quickly realized in his teen years that it would not suit him. Something about the place was too familiar, and as most teenagers did, Ralgar wanted new. He wanted adventures and new places to see. A Mortalborn of Raskalarn, proud son of a Warrior in Melrath and a child raised in the wilderness - he knew he had to go elsewhere in the world.
Ralgar moved away at the age of eighteen and eventually found himself in Scalvoris. Yet he did not go with the hopes of living in a city or finding a normal life. Instead, raised by Melrathi beliefs and values, the man found his way into Scaltoth jungle and hoped to make a name for himself. While there he had a run-in with a tribe, the Bro’ky’na tribe of Scaltoth. Those that worship and respect Death attacked the man, finding two of their men outmatched and killed. As the fight looked as if it would continue the war chief stopped it, shouting at Ralgar in Haltunga - a language he was all too familiar with.
Demanding he followed, Ralgar did so, not wanting more bloodshed. When he arrived he was greeted with strange looks, as he was not yet marked as one of their own. Once he arrived he was given two choices. Face more combat as punishment for killing their own and die at the hands of the Bro’ky’na, or take the place of the others and join the tribe, and save meeting the Maiden of Death for another day.
He chose the latter.
Given tattoos of Death and skulls, Ralgar became a member of the tribe, working with them. But it wasn't long after until he earned his nickname, Deathkissed. Fighting in the wild and being taught the way of Scaltoth, Ralgar found himself outmatched by a small tribe with a couple of tames at their side, powerful creatures. In a moment of panic, his powers awakened, deep red symbols spreading up his burning body. One of the mounts snapped its jaws around Ralgar to no effect, the bite doing nothing as Ralgar pushed away. An arrow then launched at him and, despite his moment of terror from the potential of dying so young, the arrow just broke. But Ralgar no longer felt panic or hesitation, instead overcome with deep aggression.
Lashing out and attacking, Ralgar wiped three of the tribesmen and injured one of their mounts in the minutes that followed, flailing his weapon wildly and proving immune to the attacks. As the beasts tried to retreat Ralgar chased, his allies staying close back as he failed to catch them, instead taking out aggression on trees and other beings nearby as his allies watched until eventually, his power died down. All that remained of the symbols was a minor burning feeling and a small, red symbol on his shoulder. The warriors around asked if he was calm, to which he nodded. As they went home, bringing the fallen enemies to throw down Death's Canyon as an offering to the Maiden, Ralgar was made to tell the elders and shamans what had happened.
From then on, they announced him "Deathkissed", saying that he may be Mortalborn (as he had told them) but he was more than that. That his powers manifested as they did as a sign from the Maiden. That Ralgar Warborn would be his name from then on, and that he was now a respected Warrior of the Bro'ky'na tribe. Years went by and he maintained that position, fighting in countless battles and learning to battle like the best of them, seemingly unstoppable. Yet one battle, on the 67th of Zi'da 720, was one that shook him up. With his power unactivated, Ralgar was knocked off a horse he stole from an enemy, damaging his body and leaving him bedridden until the end of Cylus, 721.
(Had approval from Peg for him to be "Deathkissed" in his tribe because of his powers)
