Prey On Two Legs

The cities and villages of Melrath are as varied and diverse as they come. The capital of Raelia is the the jewel of this western kingdom, playing host to a merchants, artisans, Aesir priests, as well as a cut throat political landscape dominated by the nobles of Raelia. To the south in the depths of the Myrkvior Forest lies Melrath's second largest, and oldest city, Fensalir. Here people have learned to live alongside spirits and the natural world by maintaining their loyalty to traditions laid down the first Melrathi. To the east lies the small fishing village of Noatun, and to the western mountains rests the Mer city of Verimeer, the brewing town of Alivilda and the alpine village Vormund.

Prey On Two Legs

23-26 Ymiden 720 | Azrael Blackfire | Myrkvior Forest
Azrael and Tollak Ra found themselves traveling through the wilderness together again on the twenty third of Ymiden. There'd been a recent string of attacks getting closer and closer to Fensalir so Tollak was sent to go out into the forest and scout for signs of barbarians or bandits. Tollak, knowing Azrael wanted to learn more of the land and help protect it, reached out to the mortalborn. If he'd known the truth about Azrael, he might not have but all he knew was that he couldn't quite get the other man out of his head. Every time they met Tollak felt the allure and Azrael's personality did the rest of the work for him. They met near the Ydalir village in Fensalir which Azrael had become a little more familiar with in the trials of Ymiden.

He spent a good portion of his time in Fensalir, familiarizing himself with the layout and the people. He wrote frequently to Talissa and Thorn who were supposed to be visiting soon but had yet to respond to his last letter. There were plenty of places to talk to people about the land in Fensalir but it was nothing like going out there and learning to navigate it yourself. Azrael would never be one for book learning when there was so much worth being experienced out in the world. After uniting at the Ydalir village, Tollak and Azrael took a familiar path, on foot, out of the city and into the wild. They traveled on foot so that they had a little more time to talk about what they were doing- or more accurately so Tollak could explain to Azrael how he was navigating the forest so well.

It was a half trial walk to the last known sighting of the bandits and unless they'd moved faster it would be another half trial walk before they saw anything interesting. A little longer due to the number of times they stopped to talk about Melrath and various skills that would help Azrael navigate and survive in the land. Eventually, they did arrive at the sight of the last bandit attack. Tollak walked around the scene, examining the details he could find while Azrael asked about the bandit they were looking for, "Why do they call him 'The Branded?'" It seemed like as good a question as any to get the conversation going.

Tollak picked up the broken back half of an arrow and examined it before answering Azrael, "He has scars on one half of his face that almost resemble a brand. I wouldn't call him that while he is around."

Sesser Mark

  • Transformer's Toolbox [Minor]: Azrael can make superficial changes to his appearance (hair, nails, skin, eye, and voice.)
  • Ever Alluring I: Azrael seems to endure harsh conditions better than others and everyone, despite sexual orientation, is just a bit curious what he would be like in bed.

Spirit Impact

  • Darksight: Azrael's perception of light and dark have been flipped, allowing him to see more clearly in an absence of light than in the day.
  • The Keys: Azrael is aware of his mortal born abilities (for Pact and Desire) due to an encounter and deal he made with the River's Daughter.
