Am I correct in thinking that a character who goes up or down multiple wealth tiers at once (eg by spending a lot of wealth points) only gets the "starting this tier" clothes etc for the tier they actually land at, rather than the ones for all the tiers between where they started and where they finished up?

Yes that's right, you get access to the goods at the tier to which you end up. Currently we're hoping to do some work on making the transition between tiers less confusing and more intuitive/fluid, but please bear with us in the meantime.
