We've decided that it's long past time that we have a good old fashioned writing challenge. Here are the criteria, along with the code for those who make submissions. Those who participate and complete each or even all sections will be eligible for special, mostly cosmetic prizes for their ic PC that participates.
There are several stipulations on these challenges:
a) The thread and submissions must have been started after the date of this post.
b) You can meet more than one challenge in a single thread.
c) Please only original content for applicable entries. Using an old description of your home and copy pasting it into your new thread, while it's not something we'll be checking for, is a bit against the spirit of the challenges.
d) Each Player can enroll no more than 3 pcs in this Writing Challenge.
e) This contest will be running from this date, to the end of August 2022. Please have your submissions in by that time, if you wish to participate!
f) These challenges are to be completed by individual pcs, on a per pc basis.
Thread Challenge Submission:
1. Write a thread that includes a box, a piece of chalk, and a spider.
2. Give a nickname to another PC in-thread.
3. Have a PC tell a story from their childhood to a PC.
4. Get into a fight (Verbal or Physical) with another PC.
5. Write a thread that includes a ribbon, an egg, and a rabbit.
6. Have your PC fail at something they're very skilled at.
7. Start a post with the line, "I didn't know it then, but I'd walked into a nightmare."
8. Write a thread that references an Immortal your PC has never met.
9. End a post with the line, "That's when they knew, they had no control."
10. Write a thread that includes rainbows, a song (written with lyrics that are properly attributed if necessary or not original), and a reptile.
Character Challenge Submission
1. Increase a crafting skill from novice to expert.
2. Earn 5 knowledge in a single skill in a thread.
3. Identify your PC’s goal (seasonal or overarching) and write about it either in a storybook entry, a story/thread, a plot thread, or OOC discussion thread.
4. Create a Storybook Entry for your character. Post it here
5. Describe your character's home in a thread or in your CS.
Development Challenge Submission
1. Submit a slang term or phrase to your city's development thread:

Character Challenge Prize:
An imaginary friend: A creature or character that only your PC can see, hear, or feel. It cannot manipulate the world in any way, other than to communicate with your PC, although it can observe anything happening around your PC that your PC themselves can perceive. It doesn't have special senses to know or see things your PC wouldn't.
Thread Challenge Prize:
Shades: Cool-looking sunglasses, that are good for bright days, and have candy-seeking vision. You can see confections wherever they might be hiding.
Development Challenge Prize:
A magic notebook: A notebook that can hold an endless variety of notes, drawings, diagrams, and other written or drawn materials. The pages are stored in it, and one only needs to think of the page to bring it up. However, it always appears as a small notebook, that can be held in the hand. Pages, once ripped from the notebook, are removed from it and cannot be recovered as normal. You cannot make endless copies of the same page.
Overall Challenge Prize:
Silhouette Candle (Bunny Ears): A candle that never expires or runs out, that when its light shines on a person will cast a shadow identical to that person, with bunny ears.
