Appearance
Small with a pale fluffy front, a brown spiked rear and long snuffly snout ending in a shiny round nose. Large dark eyes reveal the timidity and uncertainty within. Delicate but stable feet keep me upright, and capable hands can use a multitude of tools adeptly.
History
The similarities to a hedgehog, both in appearance and personality, are striking. Being timid and shy, I much prefer to be alone, away from the hustle and bustle - a nice peacful life with nowt but the company of nature. This is evidenced by my interest and devloping skill with healing - using nature to cure ills and treat minor injuries - respect the environment and it will respect you, indeed, foraging and growing medicinal plants and ingredients has been my path from a very young age.
I grew up elsewhere, raised by my parents, and starting learning my trade alongside their successful brewing business. Sadly, my parents met their demise in a vicious attack while they slept - a ferret was the unprovoked perpetrator, I remain unclear of his motives and intentions to this day. I am a young thing, too young to reasonably left to my own devices, so, relocated to a strange village in Scalvoris under the guardianship of my granny.
I haven't been here for many an arc, though I retain distant childhood memories of sunny days spent on granny's farm, helping her tend the honeybees. Granny still has the honeybees, and I must continue to develop my beekeeping skills alongside the healer vocation that chose me, as I will inherit the farm once granny has passed to the other side. In any case, the honey is a useful ingredient for my work. More recently, I discovered multiple uses for the spines I carry on my back wherever I go. Knitting and embroidery are two uses I have started to indulge in whenever I have a spare moment. Thankfully, I was born a fairly intelligent creature so have found new skills and interests fairly simple to get a handle on.
I am still a young wee thing, almost 14 arcs, and not quite at my full height potential of 3ft. I have a lot to learn about this new world, and about life in general. For now, I need to get on and make a success of my skills, in honour of my dear parents. I never knew there could be such violent creatures.
Imagine my shock when I arrived at granny's farm to discover that her groundskeeper was a ferret!
