Arc 721, 35 Vhalar
Before Elisabeth could clarify her comments regarding the ghost from Ishallr, Kisaik took to the skies, leaving the words on her lips. "Ohhh boy. I'll have to clear that up when we have a chance," she said to Silk. While she had battled the ghost, it had been in her mind. The spirit had tried to make her think the worst things of herself, and the young mage refused to allow it. All the negativity Isis could muster had come crashing down on Elisabeth during that conflict. It would have been easy to succumb, and her body had – that was another story – but Elisabeth had won the clash against Isis.
Once they spotted the shadows, the tunawa rejoined them, summoning a light saber. Elisabeth thought, perhaps, he used the ability granted to the marked of Qylios that conjured such things. Still, the truth was that there was such a wide array of powers and abilities out in Idalos, it could have very well been something else. Nevertheless, it fascinated her when people used their abilities. Elisabeth had some of her own, gifted by Induks and Immortals, with a smattering of items that could do incredible things too. Despite that, she always felt like a child during festive season in the presence of people who wielded such. Similar to how she felt about snow, beauty and wonder would permanently be attached regardless of her familiarity with it.
Kisaik began his clever little experiment with the bell and flute. Silk, obviously impressed, asked a quick question, unable to tame her curiosity. "How did you know to try the flute? It wouldn't have occurred to me that music might help."
Elisabeth silently admitted to herself that she hadn't considered that either, but there were many things about shadows and ghosts she didn't understand.
The tunawa pointed toward the structure, and Elisabeth understood he wished them to follow. Nodding, she and Silk proceeded toward the tower, eyes open, watching the shadows and the terrain around them, not wishing one to distract from the other. It was evident that the eruption of Faldrass had changed the landscape dramatically, perhaps even having something to do with the tower's condition. That was hard to tell, but she could always look in the Baron books to see if he mentioned such a structure in that location. Of course, that would have to wait for another time.
As Kisaik approached the tower, followed closely by the pair of young women, it would be evident to all three that there were many shadows. Whatever was inside the building wasn't hiding in the least, which seemed odd to Elisabeth, but she wanted to discuss her thoughts with the tunawa before they attempted to enter.
"They want to be seen. I'm not sure what that means, though. It could be a warning?" She didn't know much, but one thing the young mage did know is that the longer a ghost was…well, a ghost, the more of their living personality seeped away. How that would play into the situation they faced, she was unsure. Did spirits even care about being seen? Maybe not. She couldn't help but think tactically. Then again, ghosts weren't playing by the same rules they were.
Elisabeth did, however, have an idea. "Perhaps when we go in, if you played the music, it would give us a moment to tell them we mean no harm? Start on a positive note and see where that takes us?" Her skill in dealing with people revolved almost exclusively on creating relationships. Ghosts retained some of their living personality for a time. How much time? Elisabeth didn't know, nor did she know anything about the entities in the tower, but it felt like a good place to start.
