What are you doing? Devin wants to make sure that the employees of the Barony are indeed loyal and trustworthy, so he decides to test them. He "loses" some of his jewelry in the manor and the garden and waits if people return it to him or not. The humanoid residents of the Barony turn out to be trustworthy, but one of the four-legged ones stole his Grave Gold ring. Devin's pet flunny Bunny is a thief!

What are you doing? Mrs. Adams, the head cook, returns from her holiday in Scalvoris Town. Devin welcomes her back with flowers and hot chocolate. Mrs. Adams hands Devin a letter from her son Anthony who has gained his Certificate in Engineering. Devin is quite excited and immediately invites him to a job interview at Smooglenuff Manor.

According to Mrs. Adams, Anthony likes blueberries and quiches, so Devin makes a quiche with blueberries (and goat cheese!) for Anthony on the occasion of the young engineer’s visit. Anthony is a little overwhelmed at first when he arrives at the Manor as Devin immediately tells him the story of how he got a magical manicure via Grafting and is very shiny and enthusiastic, but before long, he relaxes and begins to enjoy himself.

Devin decides to conduct a somewhat unorthodox job interview. He doesn’t ask Anthony where he sees himself in five arcs, he doesn’t ask any psychological questions, but eats and drinks with him and wants to know which projects he’d realize if he worked for the Barony.

Anthony is not only a genius when it comes to engineering, he is also an avid beekeeper and especially interested in kittenbees. Devin is very excited about them as well. He wants to make wine with honey in it as well as mead now, and he really likes Anthony, so he hires him. He also introduces him to Marvin the chief engineer to make sure they get along.

Accepted! Anthony becomes a permanent fixture in Smooglenuff Manor. This series of threads has the following consequences: Loyalty +2 (now 32%) The opportunity to have a Smooglenuff apiary where both regular and unusual bees are nurtured. Kitten bees are a firm favourite, but feel free to Dev more, if you wish. If you wish to do this, then you can do it one of two ways: Option A: A series of threads setting it up and working with Anthony (this may be any Barony resident PC, or a mixture of them). Option B: Buying it and letting Anthony get on If you take Option B, it will cost the Barony 10 WP. For Option A, that price is reduced by 2WP for each thread.

What are you doing? Devin holds a huge winter party at Smooglenuff Manor. There is good food (Devin helped plan and cook the meal), there is music (Devin plays the lute!), and there is dancing. There is also more serious stuff though. Devin collects donations for the Spirit's Rest Oasis and raises awareness for mental health issues.

This is because you have a lot ongoing in the Barony at the moment, and I feel like new stuff would be "work for the sake of it" for you guys, which is not what I'm about. What are you doing? The master duelist Jessil Del Gentel challenges Devin to a duel to the first blood, to see who is the better swordsman. Devin accepts. He invites Jessil to dinner, because he always feeds his guests, but also because he wants to find out if Jessil has any weaknesses that he can take advantage of. Jessil is very impressed with the manor and its residents! Of course, the duel isn't just a duel. Devin turns it into a small event. A number of residents of the Barony, including Devin's parents, watch, and there are food and drinks for everyone. The duel ends with a draw, and Jessil flirts with a lot of people, including Devin, Devin's roommate and the cook who is at least ten arcs older than he is!

Thread Link: The Midnight Feast
What are you doing? Devin invites Zana to an amazing midnight feast on the Balcony. He cooks the food himself, but several inhabitants of Smooglenuff Manor are involved in the preparations. Devin gives them the option to refuse, and he makes sure that they get something out of it as well (such as trials off or a stay at an inn in Scalvoris Town). There's music, Devin and Zana dance, and then they "worship" on the balcony, under the stars!
