Zana had been here, in Smooglenuff Manor, for two trials now. Devin had been inordinately kind to her - as of course he should be - and she had found the staff to be warm and welcoming.
On this particular morning - well, morning ish, Zana liked to luxuriate over breakfast - she pulled on a warm coat and went out to the stables. There, she made her way to a more open area, where usually horses and so on would be walked, and she waited. She didn't have to wait long, because within moments her Dragonling, Zeke, landed. Zana didn't think she would ever grow complacent over the beauty of this creature, or the wonder of the gift Drathaidir had given her when she had been granted these two beautiful companions.
It was a beautiful ride and, even though Zana was not particularly good on horse back or dragonling back, Zeke was a cautious and considerate mount. His intelligence meant that he made sure that she had an easy ride and Zana was learning the subtle ways that he communicated with her - and more importantly how she could communicate with him. She was learning to lean, to think carefully about where he weight was, to notice where he was looking and - of course - to hold on tight. These things were important and they not only made her better at controlling the journey, but it helped the two of them to bond even further.
As they made their way upwards, Zana looked down at Smooglenuff Manor below them. There was a lot to like about this place, Zana thought. It had a lot of potential and, more than that, the whole island did. Devin was sure that he would be able to make the island a better place, and she considered that he probably would. She wondered briefly if they shared a definition of what made a place 'better', but she decided quickly that they probably did. To be surrounded by beauty and luxury, that was her dream and she was determined that she would have it. Devin was a fascinating man and she was quite sure that she would be welcome here for as long as she wanted to stay. She liked the idea of a partnership, of them working together at the very least. Delroth's daughter and his High Priest made for quite the glamorous couple, after all. She smiled as she gently tapped Zeke's neck, indicating where she wanted to go. "I want to see the whole island, Zeke, please. I'd like to get an idea of it." Her lips lifted in a smile as she began the process of surveying the place.
After all, she surmised, if this was going to be her home, then she should know it and what was here. Thus, it could become hers and work - as everything should - to her whims.

She's got a smile it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky
