When Faith told Karem it was an honor to meet her, Padraig knew her well enough, to know she'd have said the same had the woman not been an Immortal. Friends were friends, especially trusted ones. Kura fell very neatly into that category, therefore her mother who she'd spoken well of last time they'd met, was as welcome as she herself would have been.
Still, it wasn't every trial that one found an Immortal outdoors in their garden. True enough for anyone, though ironically similar had happened to them on a number of occasions. Except not all of them, one in particular, had been as welcome as this one was.
When Karem stroked the bird's wing and looked it over carefully, he wondered if she was able somehow to communicate with the creature without speaking. Possibly, considering her realm. Still, it didn't come as too great a surprise that the enormowl wasn't familiar with the wilds, or even able to survive there for long. "As we understand it, someone has been turning the animals loose from a local menagerie. We don't know for sure," he explained, "but we've assumed that that's where he's come from."
Now though? He was starting to think he didn't care much for the idea of caging a creature like this through it's whole life, when it was meant to fly free instead. It didn't sit quite as well then as he thought that it might. The idea of returning the enormowl to the place they'd assumed it had come from. But what else could they do?
It was an interesting theory however, that their previous time spent with Kura had left a trace of her behind with them, and that's what had attracted the bird. As a scientist, he might like to have a closer look at the question. Then again, it seemed as if there'd be some sort of magic or divine...'stuff', involved, which would be difficult even for someone familiar with physics and chemistry, even alchemy.
"Do you think he might have come from somewhere farther away than the menagerie?" he asked, frowning as he also glanced at Faith. Something Karem had said made him wonder. And they'd never actually visited the place, or knew if it actually had an enormowl.
Still, they didn't have enough food in the house to fill this thing's belly. But nonetheless the appearance of the huge wolves startled him. It shouldn't have. He'd seen one before alongside Kura. But it struck him somehow that his and Faith's garden was suddenly filling up with some very large individuals. Their Immortal guest seemed to have a way with all of them however, and he was much less worried now that the owl might start eyeing them as a possibility for a meal.
So lead the way? "The menagerie is that way," he said, pointing in the general direction they'd intended to go. Faith had the food, and it ought be enough if doled out in small bits, to at least get a start before the wolves returned with something substantial. So with that in mind, he opened the gate for all to pass through, though he figured the owl was wide enough to make it impossible, and he'd have to hop over the fence instead.
