Types of violence include beating him with a wooden staff; locking him in a small, dark room with little interaction, food, or water; briefly choking him; killing his dog; threatening his family and Tristan's staff in Oakleigh, as well as threatening his own life; and leaving him out to suffer in Saun's grueling heat until he passes out.

They don't want him dead (yet), after all.
