We’re very excited to announce that the write-up for the Merchants Guild is officially complete!
If you own a business and would like to join this guild, please reach out to one of Rharne's prophets and ensure your name is added to the PC list on the guild page.
Those who have been running a business for several seasons and would like to be grandfathered in as a guild member may do so as long as you deduct the seasonal dues (50gn) from your ledger for each season that you are grandfathering yourself in. The seasons of membership must not exceed the number of seasons you have been running your business.
We have removed the knowledge requirements from the Lightning Knights faction to make ascending faction ranks more accessible for players. We felt that the recent site change in the knowledge requirements for skills made it unnecessary to continue having knowledge requirements for the Lightning Knights. The skill and mark requirements have remained unchanged.

Moar updates, moar! This is a quick heads up that the "Economy" information in Rharne's lore has been completed (write-up included below). We've also released a new location description for The Stormlands so you all have a better idea of what you might find when you adventure outside of Rharne's walls.

Economy
Rharne’s economy, like the city itself, is thriving and full of life. As a centrally located port city, Rharne has access to a wide variety of goods not only to sell within the city itself, but to buy and trade with the rest of Idalos. The Docks are always busy with ship traffic entering and exiting Lake Lovalus, and the constant trade and tourism is generally looked upon with positivity by all but the grouchiest of Rharnians.
Rharne’s imports include common commodities like metals, wood, and livestock, as well as luxuries like gems, fruits, sugar, cocoa, spices, and high-end fabrics. Alcohol is Rharne’s main export: beer, wine, and hard liquor are all popular goods from a city that prides itself on brewing nothing but the very best. Rharne also has a strong wheat, barley, and oats trade, thanks to the abundance of these farms in the Stormlands. Grapes from the vineyards and fine cheese from local farms are other less common exports. Above all else, however, Rharne is able to export goods from any easily accessible city in Idalos. Visiting merchants will often sell their goods in Rharne, and then Rharnian merchants will export these goods to other cities.
The Merchants Guild has a good level of control over both the trade and tourism industry, and regularly petitions the Council to improve relations with different Idalosian cities in order to expand their ability to trade. The guild has their fingers on the pulse of popular goods both within and outside of Rharne and makes every effort to help their members broker trader deals to either supply or acquire said goods.
I'd like to take a moment to wish Theo Nji'Ryn a very happy birthday. He's been a wonderful writer in Rharne (and across Idalos in his other identities!) and I'm very grateful that he's chosen to write in our city & on our site.

We are delighted to welcome Zi'da to our shores - a season of cold weather but good company! We have lots for you to do in Rharne this season and hope to see you enjoying them. A new calendar? A new roster? It's like it's a new season or something!
And to go with that new season, we're bringing back the 12 Trials of Zi'da event. We invite you to participate in this event either as a solo writer or as a collaborative partnership. Remember: each gift you give is eligible for fame points, and the moderators will also be keeping an eye on who signs up to drop extra gifts into threads!
And if that's not enough, don't forget to sign up for the global holiday event! The "Saoire Secret Gifter" event is also back, and this time it's open to both city participants and global participants. If you join at a city level, you can exchange a "random act of kindness" gift with someone in Rharne. If you join at a global level, your gift will be delivered to your match elsewhere in Idalos!
