Tienite Reavers' Warehouse

Funded by the government, the Faction of Tienite Reavers, they are arguably the most popular faction in the entire Northern Region. Much of the reason for this is the beautiful sculptures of ice which the reavers create: they are able to sculpt anything at nigh on any size - as long as they can find a big enough block of ice... and transport it! These sculptures are all expensive, and are invariably one of a kind, each made to commission. Though, because of the temperatures in Viden, the used sculptures are returned to the Warehouse to be then sold on as second hand items, at a fraction of the original cost.
A number of official buildings commission the Tienite Reavers to sculpt original works every season. The Halls of Ivy, the Prime Atheneum and the Viden Academy are among these buildings, each having the sculptures take centre-stage in the entrances to show off to all who enter the buildings. Private Residences, like those of the Talius and Fahe families, also adorn their properties with sculptures, though they do not commission their creation quite as often. To citizens, these ice sculptures are beautiful - the product of one of the finest and most noble artisanal skills offered in Idalos. To visitors, they are something of awe and wonder, for most (from warmer districts, at least) they will have probably never seen such a creation.
The primary function of the Tienite Reavers, however, is to maintain the two cliff faces of ice, which surround two thirds of the city. When the city was founded, Yvithia chose a location which could not be easily reached, to keep her research away from prying eyes. She knew that the harsh climate would be too much for her citizens to cope with, though, and the crevasse location was picked in order to protect the city from at least some of the elements. For years, this plan seemed to be a fool-proof one, until disaster struck, when a lightning storm sheared off a devastatingly large shard of ice, destroying a section of the northern part of the city.
The fear, then, was that an avalanche would destroy her precious home and research, and Xiur, ever friend and supporter of those in need, secretly sent word to the estranged Treid. Still nursing the wounds of his newly-created ellune, Treid was initially reluctant to help his lost love. Though mere trials later, he changed his mind. One of his final acts before Audrae's fateful visit was to send the first contingent of ellune back to Viden. The contingent reached the city mere trials after the news of Treid's demise arrived. Yvithia, distraught and grief-stricken, would not realise the significance of the ellune's presence until arcs later, when her anger had diminished somewhat. She allowed them to work on the two walls, though would have nothing to do with them.
The contingent worked tirelessly on the thankless task for many cycles, until finally Yvithia realised that, in Treid's final days, he had decided to help her. Taking this as forgiveness, her efforts were renewed. By her order, funds were diverted to support the Tienite Reavers, and Yvithia supported the faction to grow to what it is today. More ellune came to join them, and soon humans and eídisi alike also clamoured for the honour.
