Han smiled back at his soon to be new employers as the final arrangements were made. He was again taken aback by the situation, and as he peered over the contract handed to him he finally began to actually take it in. He’d come expecting to receive one or two small quests or errands, yet here he was, about to sign on as a ranger, operating as an agent in the region at large, doing who knows what for the good of the realm. It was simultaneously exciting and a little nerve wracking. His mind went again to various immortals and he grew more and more agreeable to the idea as he did so. He was ready to do something good, to really change things for people, to help them and to help Ne’haer prosper. As he read over the terms, he found it quite accommodating. As Thalin had said, he’d be provided access to any requisitions he needed in the field and have opportunity to ascend through a ranked structure as he progressed in skill, experience, and accomplishment. He would even be paid for his work, something he never would have asked for but certainly wouldn’t turn down. Finally, he took the quill offered to him and signed at the bottom of the parchment.

“It is done!” He exclaimed as he finished signing. “I haven’t any questions at the moment, truly. I feel certain anything that comes up will make itself known regardless. And the honor has been and continues to be mine. I came here expecting to be sent on some errands and I’ve been offered a chance to do something meaningful. Thank you, councillors. I will not let you down.” He nodded at them as he spoke, shifting eye contact between the two. “Though, now that I think of it, I suppose there is one question on my mind. When do I begin?”
